Well, it looks like the Cleveland Scene leaked the article originally tapped by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The PD has refused to print the story under the recent pressure from the Supreme Court for reporters to divulge their sources.
After looking at this, it's pretty clear to understand why there was some reluctance to print this, given the scenario that the Plain Dealer may have faced had it been forced to reveal its sources.
According to the story, former Cleveland Mayor Mike White led a widespread extortion scheme throughout the city, using bribery to award city, school and airport contracts.
So does this insinuate that the Scene is a bottom feeder paper snatching up the Plain Dealer's scraps with little to no regard for repercussions? Or was this an under the table deal by the PD to get the story out in the first place?
Either way, Cleveland politics are about to be shell-shocked. Wait til The Blade gets a whiff of this ...
