A recent article in World Net Daily includes the following quote by Cindy Sheehan:
"How can these moms who still support George Bush and his insane war in Iraq want more innocent blood shed just because their sons or daughters have been killed? I don't understand it," Sheehan stated. "I am starting to lose a little compassion for them. I know they have been as brainwashed as the rest of America, but they know the pain and heartache and they should not wish it on another. However, I still feel their pain so acutely and pray for these 'continue the murder and mayhem' moms to see the light."
Since Sheehan returned to Crawford, she has been going downhill and losing support. Her ill conceived and insensitive comments like the one above are turning people off.
This comment insinuates that those parents who lost a child in Iraq and still support President Bush want it to continue so that others can experience the same pain and loss as them. This is warped logic at best. Does Sheehan not understand that some people continue to support the war and want it to come to a successful conclusion, because to pull out prematurely without freedom and democracy for Iraq would be a failure and mean their loved ones died in vain.
To some people an inconclusive end to the war would equate to defeat and only add to their pain and grief and make it harder to bear.
Time to go home for good Cindy. Other posts on this topic.

you may disagree with her but stop telling her to go home. she has every right to protest and say whatever the hell she wants. if you dont like it dont listen, but stop being unamerican and telling her to go home.
2 - Mike
Um, Ordinary Joe, did you actually read the original statement from Cindy Sheehan's blog? Or did you just read the WND article? Because the WND article takes it pretty far out of context...
3 - John Bambenek
No... don't go home.... keep her talking, keep her on TV. I want wall to wall Cindy Sheehan.
It's the key to GOP victories in 06 because Cindy Sheehan is what the DNC is. Petty elitism at its worst.
4 - Dave Nalle
Yes, do stop telling her to go home. The longer she stays there and attacks other parents of soldiers the lower her popularity falls and the more the hypocrisy of her handlers is exposed. And by all means leave Al Sharpton there too.

"because to pull out prematurely without freedom and democracy for Iraq would be a failure and mean their loved ones died in vain"
You know it's starting to look like there will be neither universal freedom, nor a democractic system of government, right?
The Crawford Texas "situation" has an inevitable end. The only question will be how quickly it occurs, and which side you motivate.
-neither democrat nor republican

World Net Daily is about as biased as they come. It is far from a reputable source of information.
7 - Dave Nalle
Steve, World Net Daily just picks stuff up from other sources for the most part. The material on there is only as good or as bad as the original source. That quote appears to originate in an article in The Chicago Sun-Times which is about as legit a source as you can get.
But I agree that if Ordinary Joe wants to get his basically sound comments here taken seriously he should look for the origianl source and not cite WorldNet Daily or FreeRepublic - just as others should avoid citing Media Matters or DailyKos if they want to be taken seriously.

I was opposed to the invasion of Iraq and I'm very opposed to Bush. As a liberal, I need my daily staple of NPR, which I received today via NPR's Talk of the Nation program featuring Cindy Sheehan. I was embarrassed by her! She was elitist, rude, aloof and totally defensive. Still opposed to the war and GW, of course, but she drove me crazy.
9 - Rich
>>The Chicago Sun-Times which is about as legit a source as you can get.
Conservative writer/talking head/ Karl Rove bed buddy Robert Novak works for the Chicago Sun-Times, I guess that makes it legitimate too.
10 - Joe
I don't know about the veracity of this source. Unless, of course, the site was hacked.
11 - JB
You gotta love Cindy's sense of who to associate with... MoveOn.org (underwriting her entire campaign), Al (not so) Sharpton (the voice of no-reason). Could she have lined up a less qualified group of supporters on the matter of national security? She and her friends are the only people in America who see "surrender" as a good war tactic...
The anti-war folks thought this was about the war... It has become just another MoveOn.org anti-Bush rally.
12 - John Bambenek
World News is biased? Do you only accept quotes from sources biased in your favor?
13 - Lio
If any of you actually think this is somehow helping the reupublicans you are crazy. This makes Bush looks soooo bad. My parents have been Republicans their whole lives(they're in their 60s), and they have even turned against him and the party, due to this war and dissenters like Sheehan. His approval rating is in the toilet and even a hurricane can't save him. Talk about a lame duck. Clinton had twice his approval rating during Monica gate.
A BRIEF POINT TO THOSE WHO THINK LEAVING IRAQ IS A DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF AL QUAIDA
Iraq had nothing to do with 911(as Bush has admitted), and was not a source of terrorism until Bush turned their country into ground zero killing tens of thousands of civilians.
If we pull out of Iraq it is not in defeat to the people who attacked us in 911. Bush already was defeated by them when he lost Bin Laden in Afganistan. Like a complete moron he was ensnared in Bin Ladens obvious trap, going after the defenseless hogtied loser Sadaam Hussein. This action has made America look so weak, it's an embarrassment. If we can't defeat this country that has been under sanctions for ten years and who had virtualy no military, what could we even do against a real threat like Iran and North Korea.
So, dear Bushies, please stop drinking the coolaid and attacking innocent grieving moms like Cindy Sheehan, and take a look at the criminal who created this illegal and unprovoked war, and humiliated our country in the eyes of the world. He is no patriot, he is a traitor to us and our future generations. America was built on dissent, and those of us who care about this country are going to keep standing up, regardless of the smear campaigns of hypocrite drug-addicts like Rush Limbaugh and sexually-deranged perverts like O-Reilly who are the primary voice in the media against Sheehan.
From reading these blogs it is obvious how terrified that Neo-Cons and their fans are of one-woman who is willing to make a stand. We'll see you in 2006!

"If any of you actually think this is somehow helping the reupublicans you are crazy. This makes Bush looks soooo bad"
I learned that long ago. when a republican says something is helping, its hurting, otherwise they would keep their mouth shut.
that goes for sheehan (now a majority is against war)
dean (now the dems are raising way more money)
air america (now most of country hears real news)
the list goes on and on.
15 - ThatGayConservative
"World Net Daily is about as biased as they come. It is far from a reputable source of information."
Yeah. They don't parot or dictate liberal lying points, so obviously they are "biased" and "far from reputable".
Hell, they don't create their documentation at a Texas Kinko's.
16 - billy
thats right, and normal americans dont get to avoid war to go work on a political campaign, like bush did when he went awol.
17 - Marc
Lie": Iraq had nothing to do with 911(as Bush has admitted), and was not a source of terrorism...
That could be, but I for one (and by the size of the counter protest in Crawford I'm not alone) doubt it. In fact the latest poll taken Aug. 22-24 Ipsos shows 60% of American don't support moonbat Sheehan and her position to pull out of Iraq immediately. As much as I resist trying to lead a horse to water, including those that are blind to reality and will refuse to "drink" no matter what, I will anyway.
Have you ever heard of Abu Abbas, Abu Nidal or Salmon Pak? How about direct Saddam payments of $25,000 to each and every Palestinian bomber's families after they murdered innocents in the streets of Israel, ever heard of that?
Obviously not OR if you have you're card carrying member of the ABB crowd who will disregard anything and everything in spite of evidence to the contrary.
You want Saddam links to terrorism? Here you got them", read them and weep.
As for "billy" who is up to his normal tricks of throwing out nonsense with nothing to support it.
As for Air America ("now most of country hears real news") Most is a strang term for a radio network that doesn't cover "most of the country" and where is does it's ratings are at or near the bottom in every market. So they may be "getting the news out" but no one is listening.
Please "silly" billy point us to the proof that Bush went awol. What do you do for entertainment, listen to Dan Rather tapes of his discredited story?
18 - billy
"Abu Abbas, Abu Nidal"
you just made a fool of yourself
abu abbas is the president of the palestinians.
abu nidal was murdered by saddam hussein before the war.
so those are the reasons we went to war? should have stuck to lying about wmd.
19 - Lio
I warned you about the coolaid....
The current Bush approval rating is the lowest of his presidency and one of the lowest for any president of all time. The most recent polling data shows that a majority of Americans believe the war is a mistake, a majority question his honesty, and a large majority disapprove of his handling of the "war on terror."
Your comment in referring to Cindy as a 'moonbat' is just further proof of the lack of integrity on the of the neo-fans who can't admit they were wrong.
My comment was that Saddam had nothing to do with 911 which is a fact. Iraq had a very minor Islamic Fundamentalist base for terrorism during Sadaams very secular rule, because he was a tyrant who didn't permit dissent, and they were his enemies. Bin Laden called for his downfall long before George attacked based on cooked intelligence,
Although Sadaam being out of power is a good thing in theory, the totally inept planning and the mess-o-potamia that has now resulted is a nightmare for the Iraqis and for the future of America. We will be dealing with the blowback from this criminal war for a very long time. History will not reflect well on the worlds biggest super power attacking a virtually unarmed nation killing tens of thousands in the name of what...george can't even figure that part out clearly.
Was it to setup a mini-Iran which is what we have ended up with.
The current constitution of Iraq will leave the nation setback 30 years as far as basic and civil rights and the new government is rooted in Iranian Islamic Fundamentalism, which will leave the women in the middle ages.
So what was the noble cause her son died for? To birth a movement of conscience in a sleepy America I would say.
Everyone wants to know...we were told it was to keep us safe...which was lie....this war has made the world far more polarized and dangerous.
We were told we would fight them over there...meanwhile 10 million illegal aliens roam our nation under Bushes watch while he spends more than 10 times per month in Iraq what he spends here on homeland security. The ports aren't safe yet, they can't screen all the luggage...on and on. Meanwhile Bush cuts taxes for his filthy rich buddies in the most disgusting glutonuos display of public treason ever.
So why was our first priority taking out one of ten dictators who we supplied with weapons during Reagans rule the top priority.
Why not the dissident boiling tyrants in Uzbekistan who are our allies in the War on Terror. Why not the oppressive and 911 funding Saudis who Bush literally holds hands with? 14 of the hijackers were Saudis.
How far will it go before the other 36 percent will wake up and see the lie. Hopefully soon..before more brave young soldiers die for Halliburton and Bush Inc.

Who's the fool billy? "abu abbas is the president of the palestinians."
And of course it isn't possible for more than ONE person in the world to have the same name. Guess you didn't search the link provided that not only details Abu Abbas (the non-president of Palestine) crimes but offers up a photo of same. So tell me billy just who is the fool?
And I note you didn't address the Salman Pak issue, wonder why that is? Could it be because it's existence proves there was an airliner in the Iraqi desert that wasn't used to train flight attendents?
Nice try "lio" "My comment was that Saddam had nothing to do with 911 which is a fact."
I've heard of a problem with reading comprehension but not when reading one's own writing. Lets revisit your quote:
"Iraq had nothing to do with 911(as Bush has admitted), and was not a source of terrorism until Bush turned their country into ground zero killing tens of thousands of civilians."
Sorry guy your own words don't back up what you're saying now. Rather than deny the obvious why not try explaining why paying suicide bombers families $25,000 in cash isn't support of terrorism?
Explain Salman Pak.
21 - Marc
And while you're at it, you "horse's" should drink a little of this. Don't choke billy, its only "water" not kool-aid.
22 - Lio
I stand corrected...I did say Iraq was "not a source of terrorism", when in fact Saddam did support suicide bombers in Israel(much like the Saudis). You see how easy that was. If only George Bush was a big enough man to admit when he's wrong, especially since it is our children who are being blown up for his mistake(or lie).
The fact that Saddam was not connected to 911 and didn't attack the United States is not disputable however(look at Bush's own words on the matter as of late).
To say that Iraq was a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism pre-Iraq War is a major exaggeration though. The chief exporters of terrorsim during Saddam's rule were Saudi Arabia and Pakistan(with their madrasses, along with Afganistan. Two of these three are now our supposed allies in the "war on terror". The other(Afganistan) has been taken over with the help of rapist warlords(the northern alliance) and a former Unocal employee has been put in charge.
Unfortunately George Bush is so deeply in bed with the Saudi's that he has compromised our nations future to protect his oil ties. Attacking Iraq as retribution for the work of Bin Laden would have been like attacking India for Pearl Harbor.
Don't you guys get that yet. Or are you just too devoted to never admitting mistakes. This war was a major-I mean MAJOR-mistake. A crime for that matter as will be seen in time. History will judge it so as it now does Vietnam.
George Bush has the blood of the nations on his hands for what has turned out quite clearly to be a war of choice. There was no threat...although now the whole world hates us and we have few allies, which is a real threat thanks to our violent and illegal action in Iraq.
Bin Laden and his network grow as our nations intelligence is bogged down in this dark quagmire of death and tortue. Our nations military is made to look like homo-erotic sex perverts thanks to Gonzalez and Bush encouraging us to betray the Geneva Conventions and operate outside basic military and moral code. Luckily the really bad videos haven't even been released yet, but you can read about the comments from some of the Senators both Republican and Democrat and believe me, even druggy Rush won't be defending them.
If Bush had spent the resources we have wasted in Iraq securing our ports, airports and transit systems, and if he had finished the job in Afganistan, we might be headed into better times. I would have proudly commended the work and had faith in the Republican party once again.
But he betrayed this nation, lied to the UN, and manipulated our country with propaganda to connect 911 to Saddam and to wage a bloody war while his buddies got rich on the bodies of our children. It's really disgusting, and you would see it if you weren't so dedicated to that damn coolaid.
But keep drinking...soon you'll find you're one of the only ones left at the bowl. 36% and counting. Gulp. 35%. Gulp. 34%

Lio "A crime for that matter as will be seen in time. History will judge it so as it now does Vietnam." and "although now the whole world hates us and we have few allies, which is a real threat thanks to our violent and illegal action in Iraq."
What "crime" would that be? Invading Iraq without the UN's blessing? Of the French? Or Germany?
Sorry guy that crap don't fly. And to use your terms, "Don't you guys get that yet." The US and Iraq were in a state of ceasefire since the 1991 Gulf War. The ceasation of hostilities were dependent on Saddam living up to that agreement. He never did and had no intentions to.
And BTW if the "whole world" hates us why hasn't Bush been brought up on charges of treason, of of lying to the UN or whatever your deluded mind can dream up.
And I guess I can assume you have not read the previous link that outlines and describes Saddam's "fight attendent" traning site at Salman Pak and that would explain why in your entire "canned rant" you failed to address it or the second link that does give the links between 9/11 and Saddam.
You are correct in noting history will tell the truth. I would suggest you start reading about Able Danger, the truth is coming.
24 - Lio
The 911 Commision on Able Danger:
"the covert program "did not turn out to be historically significant, set against the larger context of U.S. policy and intelligence efforts that involved [Osama] bin Laden and al Qaeda."
This may turn out to be a mistake on the commisions part, but regardles neither Bush nor Clinton handled the leadup to 911 especially well, and they are both repulsive corporate shills when it comes to actual policy. Bush especially dropped the ball, with his allegiance to Saudi oil families and his lack of interest in his PDBs which spelled the situation of 911 out exactly a month in advance. He was busy on vacation though so who can blame the man...being president is HARD WORK!
This has no relevance to Cindy Sheehan or this atrocity of a war Bush has chosen to create. "Able Danger" seems to be the Republicans last hope of distracting America from what's going on now. The fact is that Bush was in power cutting countertrerrorism budgets and ignoring experts like Richard Clark when 911 happened. He was so busy at a photo op reading my pet goat that he couldn't stand up and react like a leader when he knew we were under attack. So symbolic of his whole presidency...a big empty photo op.
On Bills behalf, Clinton was said by George Tenet to have a voracious appetite for world affairs especially terrorism, demanding meetings with Tenet and CIA chiefs twice a week through his eight years. Bush had no interest in such things and previous to 911 had hardly met with CIA officials regarding such threats.
As far as Salman Pak, there is still debate about the truth of the claim involving the site and the sourcing for the information as explained here:
"There still remain claims and counterclaims about what was going on at Salman Pak. But the consensus view now is that the camp was what Iraq told UN weapons inspectors it was -- a counterterrorism training camp for army commandos. Drogin of the Los Angeles Times says that the CIA never believed that terrorists were trained at the camp, and that there is no evidence they were. He notes that a 2002 White House white paper attributed all information about foreign terrorists training at Salman Pak to secondary sources. "If they attribute it to someone else," Drogin says, "it means they really don't think it's true. No one will put their credibility on the line for it." Knight Ridder's Landay, who has also looked into Salman Pak, says his sources don't find it credible that Hussein was engaged in terrorism training. "Why would Saddam run a training camp for Islamic terrorists involving hijacking planes and trains in full view of American satellites and spy planes?" Landay says."
Even if Salman Pak were a terrorist trainng camp, it would only put Iraq in the same category with most of his neighbors, many of whom are our current allies. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are the real centers of Wahabi terrorism, yet they're oppressive tyrant leaders are treated like heroes while their clerics preach hate and indoctrinate the youth.
As far as this ILLEGAL WAR? Here are some quotes for you:
FROM THE UN
The United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan has told the BBC the US-led invasion of Iraq was an illegal act that contravened the UN charter. He said the decision to take action in Iraq should have been made by the Security Council, not unilaterally.
ABOUT THE CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION
In the Congressional authorization for force that Bush used to launch the invasion of Iraq, if you read Section 3, paragraph B, Bush was required to prove to the Congress that Iraq was in violation of UN Resolutions by still being in possession of weapons of mass destruction, and secondly, that Iraq was behind 9-11. Both claims have since been disproved and discredited.
Therefore, under United States law, the war in Iraq is illegal.
ABOUT RICHARD PERLE
"A Pentagon official widely regarded as the key ideological driving force behind President George Bush's foreign policy has admitted the US-led invasion of Iraq is illegal."

If you would like I could layout several pages of quotes about prison abuse and torture that have also been illegal and the pretext for War Crimes hearings.
Time is already telling, and the emporer has no clothes. Between the blogs, and the everexpanding alternative press he won't be able to hide his deeds from the mainstream for long. Polls show that a large portion of Americans would rather get their news from comedians like Bill Maher and Jon Stewart at this point, than corporate cheerleaders like Limbaugh and O'Reilly.
Comedians show how the truth is funny and ironic, while pundits desperately race about trying to distract everyone from the facts with corporate fed talking points.
So my friend, I'd like your answer on something now.
How do you keep your dinner down watching your leader give massive tax cuts to the rich while our soldiers have no body armor or SUV armor. The Vet benefits are cut while oil execs make record profits. Is that OK with you? I hope that the other 36% aren't THAT immoral.
Do you support everything this puppet does for the companies who pull his strings or do you have moral limitations? With the recent desperate commentaries on grieving war mom Cindy Sheehan, I doubt that there is any moral fiber left in Bush's following.
25 - Marc
Explain this to me. How can the International War Crimes Tribunal bring charges based on the "Constitution of the United States
Look through your comments you have hit upon each and every left/progressive talking point in existence since WWII.and Laws made in Pursuance Thereof." They can't by any stretch of your imagination.
That should give you a clue. If you will recall the leftest political party in Germany "filed charges" against Rumsfeld based on a local law and said they would arrest him if he entered the country.
Never happened despite the fact Rumsfeld went to Germany a few short weeks later. Both the German leftists and the ICC are grandstanding with zero legal basis.
As far as "Kofi the Magnificent" goes, he lost all creditability years ago. IF he would have come out six years ago and also called the Clinton/Albright misadventure in Serbia and Kosovo "illegal" I might, might entertain thoughts of his veracity in the matter. As it stands he made that comment during the election season and was based on his being unmasked (along with his son and confidant Benon Sevon) by the Bush admin as head and ringmaster of the largest monetary scam in world history.
IF Kofi thought it truely was "illegal" he would have also filed charges with the ICC would he not? Or was he just playing the political hack trying to elect Kerry "the War Hero."
May I ask why Bush is responsible for rising gas prices? Can't be Iraq, worst est is they are producing at 90% of pre-war levels and best est is 97%. Hardly enough to reflect a 60% gain of prices in the last year. The reality is oil has gone up due to exploding consumption in China and India. Plain and simple, maybe TOO simple, for some in the "reality based community."
Sorry guy your references suck. As I have no doubt your mention of "blogs." Dollars to donuts two of your favorite are the dKos kids and Atrios. Kos famous for uttering "screw'enm" when innocent Americans are killed in Iraq and hung from bridges and Atrios the biggest hate mongering racial demagogue in the Blogosphere.
And Lio this is Hi-larious
Funny that!
Let me rephrase that.... no its not funny at all. It's rather sad.
And BTW I sleep very well thank you.
And just for added pleasure. After all this is a thread about "mother Sheehan."
You can listen here, but here is a sample of her trying to be intelligent. Failing to do that when asked pertinent questions related to why her "Bush meeting" story has changed she hangs up the phone:My thoughts? She's a duplicitious wench who's 15 minutes are about over.
