Chavez Rocks!!!

Argentina. Brazil. India. And now Venezuela. Everywhere you look throughout the democratic world, the Left is on the march, winning election after election.

Hugo Chavez's electoral romp is a huge victory for opponents of U.S. foreign policy. It's a huge victory for advocates of social democracy. And for left-leaning Americans, it's a welcome tonic to the dreary U.S. Presidential campaign.

Of course, the Chavez victory won't be replicated in the United States. Bush's re-election is assured--and even if he did lose, he and his entourage would never step down. They would simply declare martial law and move the country to a modified form of military dictatorship.

It's all over for the United States as a viable historical project. But throughout the world--ah, things are looking up!

Venezuela remains under the control of a corrupt, pro-Castro communist, a former coup-leader, who likely engaged in ballot-rigging.

Brazil is now under the thrall of a Leftist who hates Americans, and who is possibly working on the development of a nuclear weapon.

And you think this is a GOOD thing?

And you honestly believe Bush will declare "martial law" if he loses in November?

Did your prescription run out or something?

I hope when Ashcroft is done with you, you'll be unable to sit on barstools for fear of sliding all the way to the floor.

I am an Indian. And no, the Left is not winning anywhere in India, except for the state of West Bengal, where the red flag has had its stronghold for decades.

That is correct, Divya, but because of the realities of coalition politics, the Communist Party is part of the Central Government, and generally fucking up good governance and privatization. The last time they were part of the government was in 1977 and pretty much destroyed the government in 2 years - causing a collapse.

This is a group dedicated to destroying stable institutions - even through the democratic process if necessary
