Diana,
Good article, I'll have to do more research into it. Great job.

Nancy, reading my mind, writes, "Basically, this is Bush setting up for his 2008 refusal to cede office, citing 'national security' and some sort of half-assed emergency he'll drum up &/or have created by the FBI/CIA/NSA. When the MSM & citizenry rise up in fury over his coup, he will have set the stage to be able to legally designate all those who oppose his power takeover as 'enemies of the state' (i.e. him; apparently he's absorbed what 'L'état c'est moi' means), & round them up to be held or just to disappear at his pleasure."
First of all, Nancy, I could not resist correcting your spelling of "état." All those accent marks over the French letters got me interested in linguistics the first place.
Second of all, I think events may be moving a lot faster than 2008. I just gave a lecture tonight on a related subject that I'll try to turn into a series of articles for BC, and I hope to get it all out before my internet is cut off.

Nancy, promise me this: if in 2009 Bush turns over the keys to the Oval Office, and you're still posting on BC, you'll apologize for all the times you've said that he wouldn't.

9/11 was an inside job- reasons: turn America into police state, ensure endless war on "war on terror" fighting an ideology that obviously will never be won- endless war = destruction of our liberties, big profits for companies that profit from wars
