'Black Expo Aimed High For Keynote Speaker'
'Sen. Barak Obama of Illinois. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana.'
'Those were names bandied about by Indiana Black Expo leaders last year, as they met after hours, often over dinner and drinks, to ponder: Whom could Expo lure as its 35th annual keynote speaker? Which luminary would take the national 10-day Summer Celebration over the top?'
(excerpt from the Indy Star newspaper)
Bush would have gained nothing attending the NAACP convention.
Bush gains everything by replacing a Sen. Barak Obama appearance at the Expo.

Bush will be the first president since slavery to not meet the NAACP. Bush got 11% of the black vote in 04. A KKK grand wizard could get more than 11% of the black vote. To call the NAACP racist reinforces the point why the gop is so unsuccessful at getting the black vote. they just dont get it. maybe you should lose the outlandish rhetoric and face the fact that this is a step in the wrong direction and a snub to all black people.

Yep, Ballet. Telling the truth tends not to win any friends at the NAACP. But what - OMG - if there were some black voters out there who are sick of the pandering and exploitation they get from the NAACP? Maybe they'd appreciate being treated like real people for a change. Just a thought.
