Show me the numbers.
Ted Sorenson, John F. Kennedy's advisor and speech writer says, "Obama reminds me in many ways of Kennedy." Okay, all well and good. However, Obama's poll numbers are still in the 30% range while Hillary Clinton's are still in the 50% range. A set of new Newsweek polls (July) seems to indicate that whites would in fact vote for Obama if he were the party's candidate, and qualified. This is worrisome because with more and more comparisons between Jack and Barack, the math is not adding up.…

"china is anything but communist these days."
Tell me, which political party has a monopoly on elections in China?
If you said the Communist Party (you know, the Reds), you'd be correct!
Red China can be as capitalist as it wants, but as long as the Communist Party rules over 1.3 billion people with an iron fist (and as long as there is another, separate, non-Communist Chinese government in Taiwan), "mainland" China will remain Red China to me.

Zing,
There is only one other woman posting here--and she's got round heels with men in order to feel approved of.
There are no other women because you have insulted and degraded them and driven them away.
This bird is a bit tough to chew for you wimps....

rj: "Red China can be as capitalist as it wants, but as long as the Communist Party rules over 1.3 billion people with an iron fist (and as long as there is another, separate, non-Communist Chinese government in Taiwan), "mainland" China will remain Red China to me."
taiwan is not china. therefore, you don't have to differentiate, now do you?
and what "iron fist?" have you ever been to china? do you know what the fuck you are talking about? i guess not, because if you did, you'd realize what your are saying is really, really stupid.
if you were to go to china--don't worry, you won't get arrested for your freedom--you would notice that no one gives two fucks about the communist gov't. you would notice that the people have changed and that communism is a lame duck over there. i went to backwater china and saw nothing-NOTHING-but shopping, shopping, shopping. everyone has a cell phone. any unoccupied corner is a shop. people rent out their home computers to anyone to use the internet. internet cafes are constantly full (and huge). there's a mall on every corner. technology is everywhere (and ahead of the usa).
the communist party is the communist party. nothing has changed there. but it's a shadow of its former self. it's not even communist anymore. they realized that a capitalist economy makes them more money, and they are running with it. private enterprise is so separated from the govt that there is ABSOLUTELY no govt control over it. shit, there should be. look at the crap they send us. 100% of all toys that were recalled in usa last year came from china. they can't even send us dog food that we would approve of. the govt is having to step in in order to continue their capitalistic trade agreement with the usa.
yes, the "communist" party still is in power, but they are no longer communist in anything but name.

moonraven: "There is only one other woman posting here--and she's got round heels with men in order to feel approved of."
so now you're hating on the only other woman here? oh, moonie... stop bashing women. nancy does what she wants. i'm sure she'd be offended by your suggestion that she does things to please us men.
"There are no other women because you have insulted and degraded them and driven them away."
nah. not me. maybe you... but not me. whatever you might say, i (and the vast majority of people around here) don't give a fuck about gender and have never said anything about it.
i'll bash on someone for their views, but not because they don't have a penis. it seems to arbitrary to me.

I do not believe a word of it, zing--you seemed VERY comfortable with using politically incorrect language--like your support of the use of the offensive term, "BULL DYKE".
That is equally as offensive to women of the lesbian persuasion--and to those who are not--as using the word "NIGGER" would be in reference to the topic of this thread.
When all those women who are invisibly posting here agree with you, I will be skating on the ice floes of hell.
81 - zingzing
"I do not believe a word of it, zing--you seemed VERY comfortable with using politically incorrect language--like your support of the use of the offensive term, "BULL DYKE"."
hmm. when did i say that? um, never.
but i am very comfortable using politically incorrect language. i just don't use such language about women.
82 - zingzing
"When all those women who are invisibly posting here agree with you, I will be skating on the ice floes of hell."
well, when one woman actually agrees with you, i'll admit that they actually did agree.
when you call for a woman to agree with you AND THEY DON'T, why don't you just admit that that one woman has her own point of view instead of bashing her as some sort of puppet dangling by some imagined male conspiracy?
you're a nut. not a male or female nut. just a nut. wait, are nuts female in any aspect? just ignore that part of it.
83 - zingzing
you find where i said "bull dyke." i think you'll find that gonzo said it.
84 - Nancy
Zing, I don't always agree w/you - say, on illegals - but I agree w/you fully on this one. So now I spend all my time currying favor w/the men on this website? That's a new one. I guess it would bother me if it had even a grain of truth in it, but since MR spends most of her time projecting her own predilictions on others, it doesn't.
I have only seen hostility to women now from - THREE people on this website, & I'll have to say, one of them is MR. What a sorry thing to have to say of a sister woman.
85 - moonraven
I ain't your sister, Nancy. I have made it very clear what my opinion is in regard to you. Only feminists are in the sisterhood--and you ain't one.
Zing--I am aware that the WRITER of the offensive term, BULL DYKE, was gonzo. But you supported it.
And I still waiting for my fucking burger, kid....
86 - Dr Dreadful
#82 -> #84 -> #85:
zing, you are prophetic...
Actually, not so much. That one was kind of a no-brainer.
87 - Clavos
5...4...3...2...1...
88 - zingzing
moonie: "I am aware that the WRITER of the offensive term, BULL DYKE, was gonzo. But you supported it."
how exactly did i do that?
89 - zingzing
"And I still waiting for my fucking burger"
you're a strong woman. go get it yourself. do you really need a man for that?
lalala.
90 - zingzing
chris, i'm not offended by moonraven's "you work at mcdonalds" schtick. it says more about her than it does about me, and i know others can see it... so, she's really just insulting herself... and that's not against the rules, right?
91 - Clavos
Meh
92 - Dr Dreadful
Clav, careful where you say "Meh". Stan might accuse you of being a New Zealander looking for love!
;-)
93 - Clavos
Not if I'm wearing me titfer...
94 - STM
And what a wonderful titfer it is too. Beats them Kiwi woolen beanies hands down.
It's also got a Crown on it:) Actually mate, that worries me a bit y'know. Theoretically, you could still be arrested as a traitor for wearing the Queen's uniform in the US I'd think.
95 - Clavos
Nah, mate. Last i checked, you blokes were on our side, so wearin' it's officially a gesture of solidarity.
And though the Kiwis ARE good blokes, them beanies are bloody poofy.
96 - Dr Dreadful
Stan, I can hear Clavos's Aussie accent getting stronger by the minute. Good work.
Now we just need to get him to fly the Royal Ensign from his boat... :-)
97 - STM
All part of the flag plot DD. I might even punt him up to head that bizarre royalist separatist mob in West Florida who want to return to the Crown whilst somehow still remaining a part of the US ... despite Her Maj not replying to ANY of their correspondence.
98 - STM
Boys: here is their wonderful and perfectly reasonable and plausible manifesto for the return of West Florida to the Crown.
Please note also the really excellent flag with single white star on red background and importantly, in fact most importantly, the very American and almost pre-1776 Grand Union-style rendition of the Union Jack in the corner (but with the cross of St Patrick included) :)
It's good to see there are still sane people in America.
99 - STM
Make that without the Cross of St Patrick
100 - Clavos
Mate,
My brother-in-law and his family live fair dinkum in the center of the DBWF; in the city of Pensacola.
I've sent him the link.
And here's one for Stan and Doc
101 - STM
Clav, see if you can get him to join up or call them and give us a bit of a bloody report. I love it, of course. But although it looks serious, I suspect it's all a bit of a gee-up. Nevertheless, it does look like fun.
I think you need one of those authentic-looking Dominion of British West Florida citizenship certificates (complete with crown and British coat of arms) to go on the wall next to the Aussie titfer :)
102 - STM
And here's the good oil folks: if the whole of America joins West Florda in its bid to be reunited with the Crown, and the Crown accepts, you get an immediate return to genuine representative democracy and the end of all your problems in relation to the political polarisation of America.
Worth thinking about, particularly as it would also likely involve getting a proper flag in the corner of yours to replace those silly stars.
103 - STM
Clav, is that our boat mate?? Looks good, if so. Pity I'm not getting to acapulco ... I could have headed over to DBWF for a state visit as the Australian representative and we could have had an official cruise :) Doc could've come too in his capacity as unofficial UK ambassador to Fresno.
104 - Christopher Rose
Stan, that appears to be a duff link. If you can check it out and email me a good 'un, I'll fix it for ya...
105 - STM
Rosey ... the DBWF link is working fine for me. Are you talking about Clav's boat??
I couldn't get out of there when I went on.
106 - STM
Rosey ... the DBWF link is working fine for me. Are you talking about Clav's boat??
I couldn't get out of there when I went on.
If not, this goes straight to the DBWF home page.
107 - Clavos
Stan,
I just checked both links (your first one to the DBWF, and mine to the boat) and both worked fine, BUT your second link to DBWF home page did not.
Here's another.
Chris, which link didn't work for ya?
108 - STM
Clav: My second link to the DBWF doesn't work. Never mind.
I'm definitely up for one of their citizenship certificates. I'm just worried that injudicious use of a borrowed golf cart at three o'clock in the morning in Miami might disqualify me, although seeing as it was in enemy territory (East Florida), I'm hoping they might think the whole escapade was a rather dashing affair and they'll ignore its allegedly nefarious nature (I can't tell you whether it was or wasn't).
Perhaps they'll recognise that such sterling effort deserves just reward :)
109 - Christopher Rose
I fixed Stan's faulty link but none of them work for me, I just keep getting "Firefox can't find the server at www.dbwf.net".
110 - STM
Can you google it Rosey?
It's worth a look old boy. It's a hoot mate, and they've done their research too.
111 - STM
Dreadful picture of Her Maj though Rosey - an absolute Barry Crocker.
112 - Christopher Rose
I've tried Google too and still get the same thing. Irritating? I should coco! Incidentally, my sister, her Welsh husband and their Yankee kids are in Tallahassee. Is that in the DBWF too?
113 - STM
Nah, mate, doesn't look like it according to the map. It stretches from the Florida gulf coast all the way to Louisiana.
Mind you, you'd think they could set up a DBEF wouldn't you, and get the whole bloody place involved.
Perhaps not, though, if your brother-in-law is Welsh :) He's probably glad to be shot of it all.
I should probably also take the opportunity here of apologising to Heloise for buggering up her thread, but I do think it's relevent as this plan has the potential to heal all America's political wounds and current ills.
And imagine how good the flag would look.
114 - Dr Dreadful
All right, Stan and Clav: clearly I've been absent from this thread for way too long... you two have been getting up to all sorts of mischief.
Stan: I wouldn't be surprised if you made up this whole Dominion of British West Florida yourself... It bears all the hallmarks of your handiwork!
It's a great idea, though - my one concern is that even if one could convince Congress, the Seminole Nation might have a thing or two to say about it...
Clavos: What are you doing with my boat?
(Actually, that's my boat's dinghy. I was just trying to be modest.)
;-)
115 - Clavos
Well, Doc, if that's the size of your dink, I VERY much want to have the opportunity to sell the mother ship for you when the time comes (and it always does!).
My wife took that pic. I put her in the dink with the digital and drove in circles around her (I'm good at that - it's the story of my life) for about half an hour while she shot pictures.
116 - Dr Dreadful
Well, Doc, if that's the size of your dink, I VERY much want to have the opportunity to sell the mother ship for you when the time comes (and it always does!).
I'll keep you in mind, Clav, although Donald Trump has first option on it... he wants to turn it into the "biggest, fastest, most luxurious vessel afloat... it's gonna be UGE!"
My wife took that pic. I put her in the dink with the digital and drove in circles around her (I'm good at that - it's the story of my life) for about half an hour while she shot pictures.
Er... Clav... she's not still out there, is she?
[In Florida, a man leaps to his feet, grabs keys and dashes from the room, the word shiiii....! still hovering in the air above his still-revolving office chair...]
117 - Clavos
I tried, Doc, but that little dink gets up on a plane and hits 22-23 knots. She overtook me in about two minutes flat.
118 - Clavos
The Donald has his work cut out for him.
He's going to have to beat out Paul Allen.
119 - Dr Dreadful
Pfhui! A mere canoe compared to my HMS Barfbucket...
120 - Clavos
Heh.
You part (at least!) Irish, Doc?
121 - Dr Dreadful
Not in the slightest, as far as I know.
But I have kissed the Blarney Stone.
122 - Clavos
Just kissed, huh?
You sure you didn't swallow it?
BTW, did you notice that Octopus is 1M longer than HMS Britannia? (Which, for many decades was the largest yacht in the world, until the dotcom boom)
123 - Dr Dreadful
As a young sprat, before I became aware of HMS Britannia, I always thought a yacht was just one of those sailboats you saw pottering around on the horizon when you went to the beach. I had a yacht - a little toy one named Monty, which infallibly capsized every time I put it in the bathtub. But this... Define yacht! I suddenly thought. Where does something that size get off being a yacht?!?!
But she was a grand old tub. Now sadly retired as Her Maj became more cost-conscious, and (I believe) now moored as a floating museum on the Clyde.
(The Britannia, not the Queen.)
