Americans Are Stupid, By Ismail Haniyeh

With the thoughtful assistance of the editorial staff at the Washington Post, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh enjoyed the unique opportunity of airing his hate-induced grievances with Israel for American consumption.

In an op-ed published on Tuesday by the Post, the prime minister offered an interesting, albeit uninformed, perspective on the Israel-Palestinian conflict while making a special effort to incorporate a number of subtle jabs at the American people.

PM Haniyeh's two-page diatribe concludes:  "If Americans only knew the truth, possibility might become reality."

And if only Americans weren't so stupid, right, PM Haniyeh?

Unfortunately, the prime minister fails to recognize that U.S. foreign policy and American public opinion favor Israel for the simple fact Americans do know the truth. In fact, the testament offered by PM Haniyeh in today's Post will only strengthen our support for Israel.

The "kidnapped" Israeli Cpl. Gilad Shalit is only a pretext for a job scheduled months ago.

Note the quotation marks used when describing the kidnapped Israeli soldier. Is the prime minister denying that the soldier was kidnapped?

As I inspect the ruins of our infrastructure — the largess of donor nations and international efforts all turned to rubble once more by F-16s and American-made missiles — my thoughts again turn to the minds of Americans. What do they think of this?

Another jab at the cruel and stupid Americans who are guilty of "war crimes" by extension. When will the American public realize it is their government and not Hamas that is supporting terror?  Of course, the majority of thinking Americans take pride in the fact their missiles are being used to effect justice overseas. In fact, many of us stupid Americans are never more pleased than when Israel delivers American-made justice in Gaza.

They (the Americans) think, doubtless, of the hostage soldier, taken in battle — yet thousands of Palestinians, including hundreds of women and children, remain in Israeli jails for resisting the illegal, ongoing occupation that is condemned by international law.

The prime minister's contention that the "hostage soldier [was] taken in battle" proves yet again that Hamas' political and military wings are one in the same – despite what the mainstream media would have us believe. Both wings support terrorism in all its forms and this latest confirmation comes straight from the prime minister's pen.

Oh, give the WaPo editors a break. If you were them you'd have published this crazy shit too. It sells paper, stirs up lots of outrage in the letter column, and anyone with half a brain can read it for themselves and know what a vile meatpuppet Haniyeh is. By publishing it, the editors are showing that they, at least, don't think readers are all that stupid.

The only stupidity I perceive in this is Politico's inability to look at the issue from another viewpoint. I think the Washington Post is to be commended for presenting an alternative view for thoughtful people to ponder on. You don't have to agree with it and you don't have to belittle it by using emotive and inaccurate headlines.

    Dave,

"Oh, give the WaPo editors a break. If you were them you'd have published this crazy shit too."

Some papers maintain standards for their op-ed space, including -- it pains me to say -- the NY Times.

From David Shipley, the NY Times Op-Ed Editor:

Does it help to be famous? Not really. In fact, the bar of acceptance gets nudged a little higher for people who have the means to get their message out in other ways " elected officials, heads of state, corporate titans.

Perhaps Haniyeh shopped his article at the Times first and got rejected. Fortunately for him, the Washington Post doesn't set the bar as high.

Actualy Ben, Dr. Politico is right on the money calling this Jihadi Jounalism. It is, whether it sells papers or heats up the letters to the editor's page or not. But let's look at this from a diferent angle.

The Washington Post, along with the NYT the LA Times and many other mouthpieces of the MSM, have taken an anti-Israel slant for a long time. The NYT, for the longest time, hid it under the phrase "thoughtful Israelis," meaning those rich Israelis who live in North Tel Aviv willing to gamble with the rest of our lives to look good with the goyim the publishers of the NYT so admire. So it it no big shock that one of these papers would give the Hamas (as it gave the PLO in the past) a opportunity for a sympathetic view in the eyes of the American public.

The Washington Post gave Haniyeh his mouthpiece, his bullhorn at America's public. If that public will take the view that he is right, then it shows that not only is the American government corrupted beyond all possible sympathy, but so are its people. But if Americans can see Hamas for what it is - a pack of killers with a genocidal aim - there is a future for America. This is a test of sorts for you all to pass.

Not just any test - a test to die for.

    Good luck.

Thank you, Ruvy. My position is simply that the views of the Palestinian prime minister deserve exposure as a small part of the process in which thinking people make up their own minds. The article in question was clearly labeled as an opinion piece and therefore, whichever side of the fence you're on, part of the ongoing debate. I find the foaming-at-the-mouth diatribe dismissal of alternative views (not you) to be a curious feature of much of the discourse on this site. To be honest, I read it largely for entertainment!

It should come as no surprise to anyone who isn't far to the left themselves that many in the leftist elite MSM in America have very strong anti-semitic sentiments. The NYT, LAT and many other outfits are consumed by their leftist ideology and agenda to undermine the current administration regardless of what it may do. The American left loves a victim and the palestinians are the perfect victim so they glorify and romanticize them despite the brutal acts of terrorism they committ. And obvfiously the American left demonizes Israel at the same time.

I read the WP every day, and I haven't seen anything that could be construed as anti-Israel. No, they don't support Israeli policies 100%, but that doesn't make them anti-Israel; it just means they refuse to pander to Israel the way Israel & its supporters demand, or would like. Shoot, I'd like to have my every wish & demand catered to, as well, but just because someone says 'no' doesn't mean they're anti-Nancy. As for various media outlets being determined to undermine the current administration, all I can say is, GOOD! It's about time someone tried to put the brakes on Junior's attempt to foist a coup against the constitution & bill of rights. Lefties have nothing to do with it; that has to do with everyone who isn't a rabid, tail-wagging, mindless W. junkie being sick of his smirking, arrogant attempts at making himself above the law.

"As for various media outlets being determined to undermine the current administration, all I can say is, GOOD!"

So in other words Nancy......even if the Bush administration were to implement anything effective to combat terroism, stimulate the economy etc..... it's perfectly fine for and the NYT times should undermine whatever these actions taken by the admin are?

in other words Nancy........it doesn't matter to you what the administration does at all because you're determined to hate them no matter what right........ and you have no problem with the NYT doing anything they can to belittle and undermine the current admin based on nothing but an absolute adherence to the far left agenda even if that means the interests and safety of America and it's citizens as a whole are jeopardized?

that's pretty much it huh nancy?

by "the NYT doing anything they can to belittle and undermine the current admin based on nothing but an absolute adherence to the far left agenda even if that means the interests and safety of America and it's citizens as a whole are jeopardized?" are you bringing up the whole SWIFT thing again? The administration does anything they can to undermine the good of the country by leaking such sensitive information in the first place, so get over it.

First off, it's beyond reasonable belief that this particular administration would even think of doing anything beneficial to anyone but themselves and their billionaire buddies; when they do, I'll consider my position on that event. Until then, anything anybody does to thwart W. Bush & his handlers, Rove & Cheney, is doing the country a patriotic favor.

Like Diz says, get over it. This administration does whatever it can to trash this country for their own aggrandizement to begin with. If anyone needs to be hung as traitors, let's start in the WH w/Junior & Co.

You need to resume your meds, Archie. W & Co. have been caught red-handed over & over pillaging the public troughs for their own personal agendas. T'isn't just my opinion. Of course, no paid knee-jerk BushCo apologist will admit to that, so to try to talk sense to one is futile.

When does resistance end? You could argue that World War II occurred because Germany was unhappy with the result of World War I. Were they 'resisting' the settlements from World War I? From my perspective, the Palestinians lost the war (territory) decades ago, but they refuse to see their loss. So instead of fighting a real war, they continue to resist the occupation of their homeland. The problem is that sooner or later, Israel is going to loose its patience and begin a real war. From Israel's perspective, every nice thing they do (return of Gaza) is met with still more hatred from the Palestinians and the Arabs. It is my opinion that Israel is about to begin a real war with real killing that we have not seen for a while. Think about it, what do they have to loose? Hmmm... no good deed goes unpunished, so let's quit with the good deeds and start kicking some butt. Disengagement (read big walls and buffer zones) is the only long term solution, perhaps. PS, Nancy scares me.

I am happy to concur with Nancy this time.

    so this article is:

now how smart is that ?
unless Ismail is Dr Politico's doppelganger ?
