no, not saying that people who don't agree with me aren't human. hmm. that's confusing. anyway, i'm saying that people's common humanity should preclude your way of thinking... that gay people aren't worth as much as you, that poor people don't deserve a chance to be helped, etc. it doesn't make you any less human, it just makes you not so good at being human.

i tolerate people i don't agree with. you don't see me out there campaigning against their equal rights or anything, do you? i just have issues with their way of thinking. i don't understand how someone can... oh what's the point?

    Dave,

Good insights on Egore..at the end the day..who ever is in the whitehouse doesnt effect our lives much...The House and Senate is where the real issues are. The current lack of vision and leadership is amazing! This election Cycle should be pretty intersted..sort of like a movie staring Dems and Repubs...how does "Dumb and Dumber" sound!

(I hope this post doesnt offend the Dumb)

i'm just trying to figure out if you said it as in "boy, howdy," you know, like an exclamation, or if you were referencing the white-black-slave dynamic in calling me "boy" like i was a servant or something. so which is it? are you racist? or are you just saying, "boy..."

so, did you call me "boy?"

  • 184 - JustOneMan

    Jun 01, 2006 at 3:19 pm

Again with the racism...why are you always looking for ways to be devisive...boy oh boy!

  • 185 - zingzing

    Jun 01, 2006 at 3:29 pm

you called me "boy," asshole. it's a racist term. you don't get to call grown-up men "boy" anymore.

just pointing out the irony of #'s 168 and 171 anyway.

so, don't call me "boy." if you do, you are, indeed, a racist peice of shit.

cracker. wee-oo. i get such joy out of this. don't call me boy.

yes... call me feckless and small-minded if you want, but don't call me boy anymore, k?

other than that, go and look at your comments. it proves what self-righteous, question-dodging hypocrites the right can be. oh poor me! i'm white in america!

    no, i wasn't a "Deaniac."

the comments editor should have a good time with this one...

  • 190 - Arch Conservative

    Jun 01, 2006 at 4:05 pm

what is so attractive to you about being conservative? what good does it do anybody to hold your views? where did you get them?

    Fair enoug h question.

    Here's my answer zing.

I look at the issues currently facaing us and the philosopohies of consevratism versus liberalism and conservatism just makes more sense and seems right to me. Some examples:

Abortion....I believe that abortion is murder and the lengths that the left will go to defend it are stunning. Planned parenthood has been caught on tape numerous times lying to 13 year old girls about abortion law in order to get them through the door. PP has also produced and sold a tshirt that said i had an abortion" as if this were some badge of honor. Also every time a parental notification law is proposed planned parenthood objects to it because every family is a disfunctional one in which the young girl would get beaten to within an inch of thier life if theri parents found out. Some may say that it is not very conservative of me to tell a woman what to do with her body.. but then to me it's not just her body it's another human being. I have no desire that society tell a non pregnant woman what to do with her body.

Race.......Liberals just love to call all conservatives and repubs racists but it is actually the libs who seem more racist to me. The whole liberal approach to minorities is vote for Dems because without dems in power and the help of dems all you can be is a victim. That's pretty patronizing. Not only that but many libs have proven over and over again that they believe race dictates or should dictate political and social ideology. Many libs just love to call a black person uncle tom, race traitior or other slurs if they are not liberal or dem. Colin Powell, Condaleeza Rice, and Michael Steeele are all prime examples. Also liberals tend to perpetuate the idea that whenever people of different races are involved in a single issue and the minority is not cast in a positive light racism is at work. Case in point cynthia mcckinney...... people critisizing her were not doing it because she was wrong to hit a cop but rather they were racist.....the duke rape case.....the woman was black and accusing white men of raping her.....it's impossible for a black woman to lie so anyone who questions her story regardlesss of the evidence is racist.. right? then there's the double standard of what white libs are allowed to say but white conservatives arent.....trennt lott had to resign because he mentioned strom thurmond but hillary can say "ghandi owned a gas station" and " her plantation remark....

john kerry and bill clinton can campaign in churches but if a repub even mentions religion they are religious nuts who want to impose a theocracy

then there's the leftist culture on american college campuses....liberals claim to be open minded and value free speech but they have proven they're not.... any thought or expression that is not left of center is usually vehemently attacked and silenced on campuses.. wether it's throwing pies at ann coulter, forcing larry summers to resign or telling condaleeze rice she can't speak at BC because her views don't reflect it's jesuit founding while allowing many pro-choice speakers to speak though.....

crime....... liberals generally tend to be more concerned with criminal rights than conservatives
right now in massachusetts a man who murdered his wife by strangualtion and is in prison is now suing the state to make it provide money for him to get a sex change operation and all kinds of lib groups in ma are sticking up for him, his lawyer said he is so distraught that if he doesnt get the operation he will kill himself....as far as im concerned i don't even think this man's life is worth the money it would cost to provide the op
then theres the whole different philosophy of life..... american liberals seem to feel that people are enitlted to things.........liberals think that everyone should have the same quality of life regardless of the discrepencies in the amount of effort put forth...liberals believe that one person's taxes should be used to support the lifestyle of another......liberals also like to make excuses for people's personal shortcomings rather than blaming the person...

conservatives believe in self reliance and responsibility.... we believe in working hard ourselves to better our own lives and not depending on the government. we don't bitch and whine when others have more than us... we figure out a way to get what we want for ourselves....we do have compassion but we're also realistic.....we feel compassion for people who have personally experienced misfortune through no fault of their own... we like to help too.... red state charitable donations are far greater than blue state donations.. we just dont view the governmant as the savior of humanity....

I could go on and on and on. But the bottom line reason i am a conservative is because im not a liberal> Many of todays liberals have such a wrped sense of morality....(it's ok to attack the catholic church but not nambla) they whine, they make excuses, they act like hypocrites........it's just pretty pitiful behavior and i'm proud to be a cons

Yeah, can we please get off the topic of JustOneChild being ignorant about race and get back to him being ignorant about politics.

    Jun 01, 2006 at 4:14 pm

bing: "the bottom line reason i am a conservative is because im not a liberal."

yep. but the picture you paint of liberals isn't all that accurate. you see the worst in liberals, or blind yourself to those liberals that don't fit in with your preconceived notions. i do this to a degree myself.

and of course it's okay to attack the catholic church.

Hey Arch...thanks! I am almost in tears! Great points..I can say that Conservatives base their views on reality and on the real impact of words and actions...rather than theory and concepts

    Jun 01, 2006 at 4:34 pm

and i can say that conservatives base their reality on their views and their real impact is temporary at best. where's your impact on abortion? hot air. gay marriage? slipping away. the environment? no one's going to keep on believing your bullshit for too much longer. etcetcetc

holier than thou? you have no reason to call anyone that. your views on race are quite well known around here. they're your views and you can have them, but they are pretty repugnant.

  • 195 - JustOneMan

    Jun 01, 2006 at 5:26 pm

My views on race? Oh that all races should be treated equal on things such as appplications for jobs and college? Those seeking to get into law or medical school should have the same entrance requirements?

    Not sure what you mean...

nah, the part where you view america as a white country with white founders and european-style culture and the part where you poverty is a racial problem because more black babies are born out of wedlock... those kinds of things.

  • 198 - Arch Conservative

    Jun 01, 2006 at 7:13 pm

  • 201 - JustOneMan

    Jun 01, 2006 at 7:24 pm

America isnt a white country...but you cannot deny the European roots. In addition, the issue is that due to liberal social programs a high percentage of the black community have been devasted. They and only they can lead themselves out the dispair they are in...not by some naive well intentioned "white peacenic".

I have worked "for" several extremely successful black "republicans" who rose from the projects to be very successful...financially and in the community...they all had one thing in common...their fathers were in the home and very involved in raising them. I worked for 2 years in the worst section of new york with public assistance rates as high as 70%...working 13 hour days to help medicaid recipients get healthcare...so dont preach you dont know who I am or what i am about

So, the racial problem is that we have created a society of victims who waiting for someone to come and save them...it aint gonna happen...they have to invest in their families and do it the hard way...

Some of you may remember that I mentioned some months back that Gore might make a viable candidate in 08, just as Nixon did in 68. I think Dave's comment to that was along the lines of "Will he still be the same old Gore". I guess we'll see. He is a known commodity - carries some of the sangfroid of the Clinton years without being a Clinton etc...

It is still very early in the pose and posture run up to 08.

News report - unemployment hits lowest rate since 2001 - 4.6%

EGore in responding to this encouraging statistics stated "that it is just more proof of global warming, my secret algorithm that I invented correlates global temperature and US employment rates". He went on to say, "the sky is falling, the sky is falling"

    Hey Jerk,

Just to set the record straight...

    Clinton 1994-2001
During the Clinton years the unemployment rate was 6.1%, 5.6%, 5.4%, 4.9%, 4.5%, 4.2%, 4.0% and 4.8%, respectively. Those eight years average an unemployment rate of 4.9%.
