Air America Radio overtaking Rush Limbaugh in Florida - Page 2

Faux-patriots like Sean Hannity, a spoiled, east coast, rich-kid, who never served in the military and never found a caviar he didn't like, prances around like a warrior from the heartland, and has the nerve to attack the credentials of silver starred war hero John Kerry or General Wesley Clark. This is the very same general who managed to stop an ethnic cleansing in Bosnia without the help of Republicans, who at a time of war (when our troops were at risk) went to the House and Senate floors screaming "no blood for Monica." These chickenhawk Republicans, and their allies like Sean Hannity, demoralized our troops and their mission, and did harm to America's purpose in advancing human rights, simply because they hated Bill Clinton and thought they could get political gain from it.

Other right wing talkers like Matt "I go to gay bars, but I'm not gay" Drudge have advanced the GOP's homophobic agenda only to be outed as closeted homosexuals or tied to homosexuality.

This trend is becoming increasingly common after Mayor Jim West of Spokane was caught in a gay Internet chat room looking for minor boys and White House correspondent Jeff Gannon was found spread-eagled on gay escort website hotmilitarystuds.com. With accusations swirling around RNC head Ken Mehlman (who refuses to deny he is gay), and the sexually ambiguous White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove, more hypocrisy is sure to follow. Advice from such hypocrites on talk radio stretches the bounds of reality.

Even further, other GOP talkers have promoted a fictional "strong on terror" label for their party, while refusing to acknowledge that for years during the Clinton administration, as Al Qaeda was planning to attack us, all they could do is investigate Bill Clinton's sex life. When Bill Clinton sent a cruise missile to try to kill Osama Bin Laden, the GOP shouted treason from every corner of the room. Had they been as focused on stopping Al Qaeda as Bill Clinton was, and not finding out whether Clinton had sex, we might not have been attacked on 9/11. Not to mention, the right-wing does not care about lead chickenhawk Dick Cheney's attempts to evade sanctions against Iran in its dealings with Halliburton, nor Karl Rove's undermining of national security by allegedly outing an undercover CIA agent over a petty catfight when her husband discredited one of the Bush administration's rationales for invading Iraq.

Thus, right wing talk, the talk of hypocrisy, is in for a long slow decline while left wing talk that is more in line with American values will continue to gain popularity. On Air America one can hear real news, not the typical right wing substitute for news in which the host savages and libels his fellow American citizens as being traitors. On Air America, a more objective truth is aired that shows the Democratic party's strong plan for the future unfiltered by the GOP's hatred for a plurality of Americans.

" [...] heroin addicted hypocrite Rush Limbaugh."

    Oxycontin, actually.

Either way, seeing the recent shitstorm stirred up over recent allegations of drug abuse levelled a celebrity here on this site, I'd be more careful or writing things like that. Especially in News posts that get picked up by Google News.

So, has Air America got more than 6 stations yet? What's Limbaugh on, 450?

Hell, people in Miami could be picking Limbaugh up from any of several stations that reach that area and carry him. Did Schultz beat the combined rating for Limbaugh of all the area stations, or just one. Even without seeing the data I can answer that one pretty easily...

S/He also "outs" Matt Drudge without so much as a link to support it. His/her single link is to an avowedly left-leaning source.

Hardly substantial, and far more "Opinion" than "News."

Now, Dave, let's play nice. Air America is currently running 64 stations. Not to mention that you can listen to them online.

b-shooz, a few things: I appreciate the energy level, but this is clearly an Opinion piece. Also, such a slew of accusations have to be somehow substantiated. You can't just say "Karl Rove and Matt Drudge are gay because I say so." You can give our opinion on jus about anything, but you can't state as fact that which cannot be substantiated.

Finally, I am quite certain that the left wing is no more in tune with America than the right wing: the wings are out of touch, it's the body in the center that holds them together

Who cares of Karl Rove or Matt Drudge or Ken Mehlman are gay? I fully believe that they are and like all but a tiny minority of extremists, I don't really care. I know more gay Republicans than gay Democrats. The top levels of the GOP are just chock full of gay people. So what?

most democrats dont care that these high level republicans are gay. what they care about is the hypocrisy of a gay man working against the gay person's interest. similarly i wouldnt hate a handicapped republican simply because he or she was handicapped, but if i found one working to repeal the american's with disabilities act, he or she would be fair game.

try searching "drudge gay" on google. there are like 50 sources outing him. Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman are just alleged to be gay. Middle aged republicans, with no wife or kids, seen in gay bars, refusing to say they are not gay. just a hunch. They are probably gay.

balletshooz has made some clarifications and modifications and the post was changed from News to Opinion, so we are swell now.

As someone who's left-of-center, I find this leftist rant embarrassing. Full of wild accusations that hurt the writer's cause more than helping it. Sounds just about as as silly as Rush Limbaugh himself. Next thing he'll claim Karl Rove was behind 9/11 or something. Yo, dude, whose side are you on? Are you an under-cover Rush Limbaugh-in-disguise trying to make my side look stoopid?

If a blogger (or 50) says it, it must be true? Why is this so for outed Republicans, but not for, say, Hilary?

Are you seriously contending that because I get over 21 THOUSAND Google hits on "lesbian +"hilary clinton", the Senator from New York must be gay? Please do some deeper research than that, billy!

FYI, the link in this post that "supports" outing Drudge is to a blog-site, Brad Blog, where our poster also found the Photo-shopped image that appears (uncredited) in his/her post.

Hillary is married with a kid. Get it. Shes not gay. You must have been involved in bush's abstinence education to be this confused.

Or could be from New Jersey where the former governor married with children is also not gay.

  • 21 - billy

    Jul 11, 2005 at 5:38 pm

the point is lost on you. it is ok to be a gay democrat because democrats support gays.

it would be like being a jewish nazi. being jewish is ok, but once you join the nazis you are fair game for ridicule.

whether or not a dem is gay simply has no impact or relevance because they are not anti gay.

  • 22 - Joe

    Jul 11, 2005 at 5:42 pm

The point is not lost, your explanation is weak.

  • 23 - DrPat

    Jul 11, 2005 at 5:56 pm

MY point is that it doesn't matter how many folks make a claim - nor does it matter what party they belong to. "So-and-so said so" does not constitute proof, or even valid evidence.

When you couple such a claim with an obviously-adulterated image (I've seen this photo with like 10 different heads pasted onto it now), your argument flies out the window.

By the way, Brad Blog starts their hit-piece on Drudge with the words, "Sure, it's just a rumor." Look for balletshooz to edit his/her piece YET AGAIN, to CYA from that.

    dr pat.
what are you some kind of english teacher on crack? Matt Drudge has admitted publicly that he is a homo or at least admitted he has ties to homosexuality. His love letters to ex boyfriends have become public knowledge and he has never denied their authenticity. his public comments confirm he is gay. why are you spreading lies for the right wing?

  • 25 - DrPat

    Jul 11, 2005 at 6:11 pm

Link, lefty? All it takes to silence me on this is a link to Drudge's own words.

Since supposedly he has admitted something, that shouldn't be hard. I'm not holding my breath, though...
