A November Tea Party - Comments Page 4

Reminded of the long forgotten virtues of our nation.

“Remember, remember the fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot,” was the bellowing cry of the patriot-hero from the dystopian classic V for Vendetta. Such a battle cry was used to commemorate Guy Fawkes’s attempt to destroy British Parliament and all of the corruption it housed in 17th century England. Corruption and tyranny are a natural, degenerative characteristic of any society. It takes the remembrance and dedication of a society to their founding principles and values to sustain a free society rid of power hungry tyrants and dictators.…

If you'd READ and STUDY history objectively, you'd find things a LOT different than what you've believed all these years.

It's also getting OBJECTIVE teachers to teach historical fact from objective books which have recorded the same. Americans have a romanticized version of the Revolution. Deeper study into American Revolutionary dynamics reveals things were a bit different than that which is taught in public school.

Let the FACTS determine your belief, rather than letting your belief determine the facts.

That is the most sage advice I have heard in a decade. May I borrow that one?

That, sir, is why I'm no longer a Republican, no longer a racist, no longer a conservative who mistakenly believes that "the good old days" are the way it's supposed to be.

Depends on your definition of conservative. There are aspects of conservatism that should be encouraged such as personal responsibility, conservation of resources and an effective government at a cheaper price. A true conservative also believes in the nuclear annihilation of K Street (metaphorically speaking).

And here's a good starting point, guy - relatively speaking, when is the most peaceful time in human history? RIGHT NOW...and it's only getting better. That's a true statement.

It seems as we are headed in that direction but there remain too many factors at play. The defense industry needs war to survive. Republicans need fear of war and domestic terror to stay on the political scene. And Muslim extremists need to be purged from the Muslim world by their fellow Muslims.

    John McCoy,

I seriously thought you were joking. I was chuckling at all of the oddball emotions that were being expressed because I just knew that you were making fun of the people who went to the mic.

Dude, get an education. Your frightening ignorance is forgivable because you are a kid but please read, read and read and HOPEFULLY in a few years you will be embarrassed of this article.

However, regardles of your position, if you want to make a point, you have to answer the questions HOW or WHY. You mentioned that people's liberties were being taken away, you never said HOW. You never even explained what you meant by LIBERTY. So what ends up happening is

    Dave,

    @#8

Are you alright? What was bigoted about Scott's statement?

This kid rights a really stupid article about who knows what (I don't think he really knows) and then infuses a celebration of the idea that people should attack the President of the United States of America and all you can think to do is to chide Scott's comment which is VERY reasonable and one that any "LIBERTARIAN" with half a brain would latch on to?
