Singer/songwriter kicks off new tour in San Diego...

Pete Yorn To Release Back And Fourth June 23, US Tour Kicks Off in July

Singer/songwriter will release his first studio album in three years on June 23 and has already lined up dates for a headlining tour in support of Back and Fourth

Back and Fourth was produced by Mike Mogis, who has worked with Conor Oberst's Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley.  Columbia co-chairman and famed producer Rick Rubin also provided guidance to Yorn and Mogis during sessions for the album.  The album was recorded in Omaha, Nebraska, where Oberst's indie enterprise began.

Yorn will be backed on tour by '90s indie sensation Jonny Polonsky, who also played on the album, Joey Kennedy on keys, Scott Seiver on drums, Mark Noseworthy and Zak Schaffer on guitar.

Yorn is currently on the road supporting Coldplay, but leaves that tour June 4.  That's a shame, too.  I had tickets to see them in Birmingham but because of, as Chris Martin of Coldplay later referred to them, "parking shenanigans," I was able to see only the final song of Yorn's performance.  I now have tickets to the June 6 Coldplay show in Nashville, by which time Yorn will have been replaced by Snow Patrol.  That will be fun, too.  It would have been nice to see them both.
