Celebritology reports that Paris Hilton recently made the short-list to play Mother Teresa in a film directed by T. Rajeevnath. Other publications report he is currently flying around the world working to convince Paris that she would be perfect for the role. Showbiz News reports:

The Asian moviemaker plans to make a film about the life of the late humanitarian. He will travel to the US from Asia armed with photos of the American socialite that have been altered to make her look like the saintly nun, who died in 1997.

He said: “The pictures will be my strength when I speak to Paris. She has expressed delight that I have short-listed her to play the role. This will make our meeting easier.”

Rajeevnath’s agents have reportedly got in touch with Hilton’s people, and a time and venue for the Stateside meeting will soon be arranged.

Paris Hilton, nor her agents, could be reached for comment at press time.

This would be Hilton’s first lead role. She has also appeared in The Cat in the Hat, House of Wax and the homemade XXX movie she made co-starring Rick Salomon, Hilton’s ex-lover.

Rajeevnath’s $11 million film about Mother Teresa will start filming early next year. Should Hilton play the lead role of Mother Teresa, it will mean a huge makeover for both herself and her film career.

Obviously Rajeevnath wants his film to get publicity, which is why he is going after Paris Hilton and not a real actress.

How does the saying go “Any publicity is good publicity”?

Hopefully Paris doesn’t stink up this guys movie, but then again, if he does, he asked for it.

Why do I think this must have been intended for publication 3 days ago.

  • Nancy

LOL – that was my reaction, Dave! But then again, with Bollywood you can never tell.

  • My Opinion, That’s All

This has got to be a joke. Paris Hilton doesn’t even look like Mother Theresa. What was that one movie she was in? I was told on another web site that the only reason why this person went to that movie was to see Hilton get whacked.

Seriously, Paris Hilton? Mother Theresa? It’s a joke, right? C’mon. Admit it!

  • This isn’t a joke, my post is going up on DC in a minute, with more details:)

No offense to the good Mother T, but how are they going to uglify Paris & then shrink her about 2-1/2 feet? Or is she Mother T. before she got religion, & was just Agnes? I … I’m almost speechless visualizing this. The Vatican ought to sue for defamation.

  • Here’s the piece, and thanks MrRealEstate for the news:)

  • We love Mother Theresa and we love Paris Hilton. May God Love and Bless them both.

  • Nancy

Speak for yourself. Mother T, yes; P. Hilton, no.

  • Paris brings the wonderful blessing of high traffic. What’s not to love about that?

  • Let’s just say hypothetically that Ms. Hilton does get the part. And let’s say that she does such a wonderful job playing the role of Mother Theresa that she inspires a multitude of young people to go into similar forms of service as Mother Theresa.

If that were to happen, would it really be so bad for Ms. Hilton to have played that part?

Paris as Mother Teresa… Anyone can pull off changing the way they look in films. But she can’t pull off any acting. maybe they can film it in Urudu so we will not see how bad she is saying her lines. BTW… Mother Teresa’s real name was Gonxha Bojaxhiu… Angnes was the names he chose when she went to become a nun.

  • Well, I don’t know how convincing she would be in that role, but it might be humorous to watch her try to pull it off, as it was humorous to watch her make a fool out of herself on the Simple Life. I’m sure the director is most likely only courting her for the role for publicity purposes, but you never know, she may end up surprising all of us. Time will tell. I am a firm believer in miracles, myself.

    Cheers. 😉

  • Probably the most offensive thing I’ve ever heard. Ironically Mother Teresa would have no problem with Paris playing her in a film, despite America’s familiarity with One Night In Paris.

  • Yeah, she probably makes a better Mary Magdalene than a Mother Theresa, but directors will be directors, and they will do what directors do to sell their films. If directors cared about taste, Porky’s never would’ve made the big screen.

  • A nifty artwork on the issue with some sly jokes is over at DC

  • Thanks for the link.

The last thing this author needs is more links.

Maybe they’re planning to have her do with a rosary & holy wafer what she did with the hose & hamburger in that ad…?

  • That’s a rather frightening thought, I think.
