OZZY OSBOURNE has been moved out of intensive care as he recovers from the crash of an all-terrain vehicle two weeks ago, his family said Tuesday. Osbourne, 55, fractured his collarbone, eight ribs and a neck vertebra when the 600-pound ATV flipped and landed on top of him at his estate in Buckinghamshire, southern England, on Dec. 8th. He spent a week on a ventilator. In a written statement, the Osbourne family said Ozzy had been moved from Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, west of London, to a private clinic. Osbourne’s wife Sharon said last week it would probably take six months for the former BLACK SABBATH frontman to recover fully. “The Osbourne family are very happy that Ozzy has been allowed out of the intensive care unit for Christmas and would like to thank everyone for their kind support, well wishes and prayers,” the statement said. Also, according to the BBC News, OZZY has been voted rock star of 2003 in a poll of music fans. Osbourne, who is recovering from a quad bike crash and recently secured his first UK Number One single, won the accolade from Virgin Radio listeners. Justin Hawkins, frontman with THE DARKNESS, came a close second in the poll of 3,000 fans. U2’s singer Bono was voted into third place”Ozzy Osbourne is the kind of rock legend we would all secretly love as a dad,” said Ben Jones, the presenter of Virgin’s Most Wanted show. “He’s in a massive rock band and has lived the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle to the full – the kind of fatherly advice you get from Ozzy Osbourne comes from experience. Other rock stars to make it in to the top ten included two Sixties legends – ROLLING STONE Keith Richards at number six and BEATLE Sir Paul McCartney at number seven.
