Nintendo recently announced Hawthorne Heights as its headliner for its fourth-annual Fusion Tour this fall.

Following last year’s tour which featured national act Fall Out Boy, the tour continues to feature top-selling rock acts as Hawthorne Heights will join Relient K, Emery, Plain White Ts and The Sleeping along with Nintendo showcases.

This year’s tour not only promises new and upcoming Nintendo titles but also a sneak peek at the Nintendo Wii console.

While nothing indicates whether an actual Wii unit will be available for demonstration during the tour, the previews will be touted across about 40 cities nationwide beginning September 27th. The Nintendo DS Lite will also be prominently showcased at each of the events.

“Video games are as important to the pop culture landscape as music,” said George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, about the annual event. “The Nintendo Fusion Tour has become a launching pad for the best in entertainment, from the hottest new bands to the best upcoming Nintendo products.”

To further the connection between music and video gaming, the tour melds together many of the band members participating in the tour reminisce about growing up around video games.

“Nintendo always picks great rock bands and we are happy to follow in that tradition this year,” said Hawthorne Heights singer JT Woodruff. “But mainly, I am an old-school video game nerd. I still have my NES with more than 500 games.”
