He acts. He directs. He produces. And of course, he dreams of blue suede shoes. That's Nicolas Cage for ya.
If you blink, you may have missed him in his first major film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Since then, Cage has gone on to box office platinum with such films as The Rock, Con Air, and Gone in Sixty Seconds. Nic's most recent film, Ghost Rider, raked in a cool $200 million worldwide. And, to the delight of National Treasure fans, he's currently filming the sequel in Washington, DC.
In the meantime, the Academy Award-winning actor will star in Next, a new sci-fi action thriller costarring Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel (pictured).
Next — which hits theaters Friday, April 27 — stars Cage as Cris Johnson, a Las Vegas magician with the power to see two minutes into his own future and change the outcome. Soon after Cris's gift becomes apparent, the government picks up on his trail. FBI Agent Callie Ferris (Moore) wants Cris to use his ability to predict future terrorist attacks.
Like Cage's other action flicks, the film will most likely meet critical aversion. Still, the chases, explosions, and Cage's untamed hair will undoubtedly leave audiences thoroughly entertained once again. I mean, they don't call him box office gold for nothing.
Based on the short story "The Golden Man" by Philip K. Dick, Next is directed by Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day) and is rated PG-13.
