Nick Moss & The Flip Tops have announced their final dates for 2009 and the first dates for 2010, and the legendary Lurrie Bell will be joining the band for this entire leg of the tour.
The tour concentrates on the mountain west area and roams through the midwest, beginning tonight in Denver and finishing in St. Louis on January 10.
Lurrie Bell is no stranger to Moss tours. Moss' most recent release, Live at Chan's: Combo Platter No. 2, featured Bell sitting in with the band for half the set and the two have made joint appearances before and since that release. Also joining Moss on this leg of the tour will be bassist Johnny Bradley.
Nick Moss & The Flip Tops have been nominated for Band of the Year at the 2010 Blues Music Awards, and Flip Top Gerry Hundt is nominated in the Instrumentalist of the Year category. The Flip Tops won Blues Blast Magazine's Best Blues Band award in 2009.
Moss will return home to Chicago to open for Hall of Famer and icon Buddy Guy at Guy's appropriately named club Legends on January 14.
