By now, I'm sure you heard that Michael Tait is replacing Peter Furler as lead singer of the Newsboys.
As a member of DC TALK, Tait was one of the three lead singers and the band has released five highly acclaimed studio albums, won four Grammy Awards, and two Dove awards for Rock Album of the Year in 1996 and 1997 for their album Jesus Freak. It was their fourth and most successful CD which reached 16 on the Billboard charts, sold over two million copies, and had six number one singles including "Between You And Me," "In The Light," "Colored People," and "Jesus Freak."
In 2000, DC Talk went on hiatus to allow all three members to pursue solo careers. In 2004, Tait's band TAIT won the Dove Award for his album Lose This Life.
Newsboys is a mega popular Christian pop band. They have been nominated for four Grammy Awards and have won six Dove Awards including Rock Album Of The Year and Artist Of The Year. Originally founded in 1992 in Australia, this band has been one of the most popular and best selling Christian Music Artists of the last three decades.
While the Newsboys has achieved great success as a studio band, their live concert experience is a big part of what keeps fans coming back for more. From the high quality production and stage effects, to drum solos featuring the world famous spinning drum riser, the live show is amazing.
Currently on the Join The Tribe Tour with Decemberadio, VOTA and Bread Of Stone, this tour captures the heart of newsboys which is their partnership with Global Tribe, an relief organization that helps those in need in Mexico and othr countries around the world.
