New Year’s Eve 2012 promises to be as spectacular as ever, with parties and dramatic fireworks displays taking place all around the world. Many people will head out to their local towns and cities to celebrate the New Year, but for those who can’t make it out, or just wish they could experience the event in one of the world’s major cities, My World Webcams brings you live webcam streams from all the biggest New Year’s Eve events globally:
Coupled with a world sunlight map so you can track the progress of the new year as it works its way around the planet, the webcams are listed in chronological order, starting with the Pacific island of Kiribati, where the small town of Kirimati is the first location in the world to welcome the New Year at GMT -14, all the way back around to Honolulu on Hawaii, at GMT +10 a full 24 hours later.
In between, all the most famous and best attended displays and events are featured – you can watch Hogmanay live on Princes Street in Edinburgh, the ball drop at Times Square in New York (where there will also be a live stream on the famous “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve”) or street parties in locations as diverse as London’s Trafalgar Square, Sydney Harbour in Australia, and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Massive fireworks displays are also featured from Hong Kong, Singapore, Seattle at the Space Needle, in Madrid’s Puerto del Sol, Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate, Rome’s Colosseum, Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Red Sqaure in Moscow, and many more.
New Year’s Eve also brings out the stars the world over, and you can watch a live feed from the Las Vegas Strip, where a giant screen will be showing the live concert featuring Stevie Wonder, Adele, and The Flaming Lips. Fans of Lagy Gaga and Justin Bieber will want to keep an eye on the New York webcam, as they’ll be performing at the Times Square event.
So if you can’t make it to the most spectacular New Year’s parties in person, then why not try the next best thing – watch them all on live stream webcams online!
