It's a good thing I work with a sinister cabal of superior writers or I'd have even less to say about this week's crop of new releases.
We'll start with the latest from Motion City Soundtrack, My Dinosaur Life. This one wasn't on my radar until I read Holly Hughes' review of it and now I'm making a point to at least check out a few tracks before deciding whether or not to make the purchase. She's given it her seal of approval. I might have to get back to you all on this one.
We also have new music from Eels. I haven't given them nearly enough consideration although I still think "Novocaine For The Soul" is catchy, clever, and brilliant. They released a compilation not long ago and our own EL Bicho reviewed it. If he writes up End Times, we'll link to it here.
Beyond that, it's a slim week this week. Sony has released a Greatest Hits package for Gretchen Wilson, and it seems pretty clear her 15 "redneck" minutes are up. We also have new music from Editors, who've had much more success in the UK than in the US.
