Groundhog Day edition of New Album releases with live Satriani and more...

New Album Releases Feb. 2, 2010: Joe Satriani, Nick Jonas, Lil Wayne

Let me get this out of the way: it’s GROUNDHOG DAY!  Thank you, Bill.

It is the Groundhog Day edition of the New Album Releases and we pick up where we left off last week with some big names releasing some albums.

Joe Satriani
Live in Paris: I Just Wanna Rock

We start this week with a release from an artist near and dear to my heart.  I’ve been listening to Satch for more than half my life and I own every CD he’s released.  I’ve bought three different editions of Surfing With The Alien.  I’m devoted.  I’m obsessed.  I’m… conflicted.

I have Live in San Francisco.  I have Satriani Live.  I’m having trouble convincing myself I need a third double-live album.  The set list has many songs repeated across those first two live records (in addition to the live disc included as part of the Time Machine set).  Buying this will feel a little like Groundhog Day for me, but I might be too co-dependent to skip a Satch release.  He and I are boys.  We’ve been together a long time.  I might have to double down on this whether I need it or not.  Feel free to advise and/or ridicule me in the comments below…

Nick Jonas & The Administration
Who I Am

I don’t really know what to say about this other than I feel an obligation to mention it.  The Jonas Brothers are reasonably insipid and I imagine Nick’s record will be, as well.  I am thankful the Jonas twerps have fallen out of favor with my nieces.

Lil Wayne
Rebirth

Lil Wayne is about to get fitted for a jump…suit.  I might have bought this if he’d have at least had some integrity and truth in advertising and named the album Legal Fees or Legal Defense Fund

With that, I turn you over to the full list.
