  • You knew someone was going to say this but, Sammy Hagar and a a … no wait .. Celine Dion and a guitar????? What did she provide – the cat gut strings.

Not to mention Ashlee Simpson and real instruments – even her voice – are complete strangers.

    it’s the thought that counts

  • Most of these guitars are low-end instruments that non-musicians wouldn’t realize aren’t the normal working tools for these guys. About the only exceptions here would be the Gibson Lucille, which B.B. does indeed use (although it’s not nearly as nice an instrument as its ES-series progenitors) and possibly the Slash instrument (gut check says no). Pete Townshend has never been known to play a blue Rickenbacker 330 (his preference in 6-string Rickenbackers are his Fireglo sunburst signature model 1997s) so it’s again probably something just put in front of him to sign.

Other than Ashlee and Celine’s donations (both very much low-end instruments I might add) the one that amuses me the most is the Britney Spears-signed instrument. Every time I see or hear aoubt said chanteuse, she reminds me of “Deliverance”. I can just picture her playing “Dueling Banjos”.

After working a couple of benefit functions, I’m more aware of the significance of any product, musical or otherwise donated for any cause. And to have them autographed by performing artists is a major “wow” factor.

I would love to have such offerings for a benefit function.

  • A very clever way to generate charitable proceeds. I would of loved to participate had I seen this sooner. Any chance of repeating this?

  • A special THANKS to all who supported this worthwhile event. YOUR participation, is an INSTRUMENTAL part of OUR success. Thanks Again.

his is a great organization that uses the love of music to inspire hope in the hopeless! I would love to participate as a musician if this came to Modesto!
