Yet Another Rock Club. This one is located in Nottingham, right near the old council building (with the two lions in front)
I only found out it existed tonight, altho no doubt its a year or two old
The prices are reasonable; £3 entry, ok drinks
The music is good; tho i recognise few tracks, they are good (and i'm hardly the most up-to-date person atm)
There are even quite a few fit birds there (or there were tongiht, and its monday FFS)*
Why should you go? well, if you're a local rock clubber, you'll know the most talked-of place is Rock City, but that actually has some pretty crap nights and, well, it's nice to have a change (it's also nice to know there are more rock clubs opening, as we need variety). Obsessions is hardly near the same size as City, but don't let that put you off. It's also got an entrance that's almost hidden but, again, that shouldn't deter you (especially if you're local, in which case you should know by now that about half of the clubs in nottingham have well-hidden entrances that look like you aren't supposed to go in them). the amount of underage clubbers is a little distressing but, again, this seems to be the case everywhere these days. How else do you think brits grow up to be the proud lager louts and alcoholics we have such a far-reaching reputation for being all over the globe?
Anyways, if you're in nottingham and want a change and like rock music (of all sorts), try it and see. At the worst, if you're a bloke at least, you'll see some ncie eye candy =+)
