Yahoo! To undercut Skype Yahoo announced that in a few days its new version of Yahoo messenger service would allow users to make phone calls out for low per-minute charges. Some of the rates will be as low as 1 cent per minute.

CBGB to close on Halloween ‘06. After a rent dispute club owner Hilly Kristal and The Bowery Residents’ Committee have reached an agreement, the club will be closing next year. They have negotiated a short-term lease which will last until Halloween of next year. Kristal says he’s considering re-opening the club elsewhere in New York and is also considering opening a Las Vegas CBGB.
