Another get together chez moi with me, John and Andrew, ostensibly to work through ideas and tunes for songs we hadn't really covered so far. With only three weeks until we're booked into a studio for the weekend, there's an awful lot of work to be done. John and I are starting to work as a rhythm team (it's almost telepathic), so what we're going to be like with a live drummer, who knows; we got a couple of existing songs down pat - Movin' In and another, un-named composition (well, at least I don't know its name!). There are clear prog rock and jazz fusion tendencies here - perhaps we can get some sort of shot to protect against it! Andrew gave us a glimpse of his singing, but was having to negotiate frequent re-writes of the lyrics as his songwriting free spirit came up against the need to fit the words into a musical structure! The odd bit of lyrical surgery later, we got there (I think!). All back to mine next week. Happy Easter everyone.
