Wilco's Jeff Tweedy has entered himself into rehab for an addiction to painkillers he takes to fight off the suffering of migraines he has suffered his whole life. I hate hearing about things like this, period, but I find it especially sad when it's tied to an unbearable condition like migraines. My mother frequently suffers from migraines and I've had a few severe ones myself, so I really sympathize with what he's going through. I can't blame him too much for relying on painkillers to make it through.
The Yahoo article notes that the mysterious two-week bumping of the release date of their follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is to compensate for Tweedy's recovery. Let's hope for a quick recovery not only for the music but for the very gifted Tweedy.
(In the meantime, enjoy unproductivity.)
