Edge-Core is set to ship its Wi-Fi phones with Skype software on-board by the end of the month. The handset will connect across any 802.11b or 802.11g WLAN and will come equipped with Wi-Fi’s wireless multimedia (WMM) add-on technology designed to enhance call quality. The handsets are expected to retail for around $249.
Amnesty International has said that Microsoft Corp, Google Inc, and Yahoo Inc of violating the Universal Declaration on Human Rights by censoring their websites in China. Amnesty has said that the three companies have violated article 19 of the Human Rights document. Article 19 states everyone should be guaranteed freedom of expression.
Yahoo’s Yahoo Go for Mobile which will include search, address book, and email will be imbedded into some Motorola phones. A multi-year deal will have the service on the mid-priced and high end Motorola phone. This is the second deal Yahoo has made with a phone maker this year, having previously announced a deal with Nokia.
The track listing for the soundtrack to the film The Last Kiss has been released. Zach Braff, whose film Garden State turned heads has compiled the soundtrack for his new film. It will feature music from Imogen Heap, Snow Patrol, Remy Zero, Rufus Wainwright, Coldplay, and The Shins to name a few. The soundtrack will be released on August 8th. The film will be out on September 15th.
