well, the way i see it is that emo is anything that is music with soul or heart to it. it is like remembering an ex that left you for your best friend and you want to write about it. you want to look back and see the pain of your past along with the ghosts that can follow. i think that these days punks use the identity of a punk to be assholes. i don't know why everyone has to be so steriotypical to emo kids. we may be in touch with our "sensitive side" but you all don't have to be ignorant about it.

Everyone here is stereotyping emo. Emo stands for emotional. It doesn't mean they cut. That's a "cutter" not an emo. Cutter is an attribute that people take up to release their pain in a selfdestructive way. It doesn't mean they want to die. Emo's aren't "Whiney people who want to die because their life sucks". They are normal people, who like a certain fashion, taking up attributes that others do and hang out with those people. I'm not emo but I don't hate them.
