i just heard the news about a half hour ago. nina was one of a kind. impossible to categorize. jazz, soul and blues, slow ballads and uptempo swing. a unique talent and powerful, awesome voice. i'm listening to a best of cd now.

wild is the wind, little girl blue, ne me quitte pas, mississippi goddamn, don't let me be misunderstood.

one of my favorite things she ever did was the song 'the king of love is dead' about martin luther king, jr. talk about a moving performance!

    rest in peace, nina.
