Viisage Agrees To Buy Iris Scan

Viisage Technology has agreed to buy Iridian technologies for 35 million in cash. Iridian Technologies is a privately held iris recognition technology company. With this deal with Iridian and its pending merger with Identix, Viisage will become the first manufacturer of a full range of Biometric technologies in the U.S.

Franz Ferdinand Members To Give Songwriting Clinic

Members of Franz Ferdinand, Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy will be giving a songwriting clinic at a writer’s workshop at the upcoming Edinburgh’s International Book Festival. The clinic will be held on August 22nd and the two will be discussing songwriting strategies.

Kylie Announces UK Shows

Kylie Minogue has announced two UK dates for early in 2007. The dates will be following her “Showgirl-Homecoming” tour in Australia at the end of this year. Minogue’s tour dates were postponed after she was diagnosed with cancer. The UK dates are January 2nd and 3rd at London’s Wembley arena. Tickets are expected to go on sale on July 21st.
