Van Halen are looking at an arena tour for this Fall. A reunited Van Halen had been considering an amphitheatre tour for the summer but they idea was put on hold after Eddie Van Halen entered rehab. The tour would be with Eddie and Alex Van Halen as well as David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang on bass. Although no dates have been set, arena holds have been put in place in several major markets.
Universal refuses to sign Apple contract
Universal, the world's largest music label, has refused to sign a new two year contract with Apple saying that it wants more flexibility. It has also threatened to move some of its artists to rival digital music services. Universal has told Apple that iTunes will be treated like other retailers who do not have long-term supply contracts. Universal is hoping to generate competition to iTunes.
HD-DVD is hoping to get a leg up on blu-ray by taking advantage of HD-DVD players built in internet connections. A Japanese feature called "Freedom" will allow users who have connected their players to the internet to download new subtitles, menu styles and a HD trailer to another film. The HD-DVD for "300" which is due out this month will reportedly have a feature that will allow users to re-edit the movie by putting scenes in the order they would like them.
