Reuters and Yahoo are set to team up and create a site for user generated content. The site will be titled “You Witness” and will allow readers to submit photos and videos. The site will at first just provide content to Yahoo, but will eventually be available to all of Reuters’ customers. It has not been announced how readers will be paid should their submissions will be sold. The site goes live tomorrow.
iVillage to have its content featured on a show
NBC Universal and One True Media have announced that NBC will use One True Media’s video editing technology for viewer-created content for their new interactive Daytime TV show. The show will be called iVillage live. Users of the service are able to buy a DVD of their finished videos.
Alkaline Trio to release rarities
Alkaline Trio will release a collection of rarities. The collection is called Remains will be out on January 30th. It will have twenty-two tracks including a live version of “DeathBed”, and an acoustic version of “My Standard Break from Life”. The album will be released by Vagrant Records.
