Twisted Sister are Still Hungry... are you?

Still Hungry
Twisted Sister
(Detonator)

Much to the annoyance of the original producer, Twister Sister have re-recorded and re-released theie seminal album "Stay Hungry". The band feel the original was too "radio friendly" for their tastes and felt the need to record a hard edged version on their own terms. What has resulted is much rawer and grittier versions of the original tunes. One does wonder if either 'We're not gonna take it' and 'I wanna rock' would have been as huge in the form they are on here. To add to the package, the band include 7 extra tracks including the rather excellent newie 'Heroes are to Find', originally recorded for the Strangeland (which in turn comes from the song 'Captain Howdy' from this album...sounding creepier than ever) soundtrack. Ironically, 'Heroes' sound much more in the spirit of Stay Hungry than this version of the album. The other bonus tracks include two from the original album's sessions that never made it and four from the 2004 version of the band. All in all this is a great look back at classic pop metal album, from a great band. The only thing is that it will have you asking yourself...am I a SMF still? This is an recomended purpose for anyone who ever liked TS and for fans of great in-yer-face rock.

For Any SMF, The Decision To Buy This Album Is A No-Brainer. It's Absolutely Amazing, And Is What Stay Hungry Should Have Been.

I just got the CD for my birthday, and it is one of the most exciting comebacks I am awaiting. This CD is excellent and truly shows Twisted's harder-edged side. Stay Hungry was a good album, but this one really makes it what it should have been. Too bad in the 1980's the music scene dictated how an album should have sounded. All in all, this is a MUST HAVE cd for any Twisted fan out there. I was an SMF back in the days of Under the Blade (the original on Secret records) and still am.
