Troubled Hubble is a typical rock and roll band taken to the extreme. They are heavy on the guitars, heavy on the attitude and light on the talent.
This disc, which has immensely entertaining photos on the cover and inside of the insert, is an array of tracks that talk about nothing. From his mom’s migraine, to how much he loves his canoe. It would almost be a conceptually fun piece of rock and roll if the band members were any good. They continue through the same chord structure in every song, the vocalist sounds like he swallowed a tank of helium (ala the Chipmunks) and the other players are just warm bodies filling in notes and beats where they see fit.
It is hard to comprehend some of attempts at music coming out of some of these labels as of late. If I were to go to Nashville or some other “rock and roll” town, and try and pull this same aural garbage off, I would be laughed out of the industry.
Overall, this band is a poor attempt to copy greats like Built to Spill, Sensefield and even Nerfherder. Buy the latest Sensefield, and leave these Pseudo rockers to their “Rock and Roll” dreams of success.
