Fun in the US where rapper TI, currently in jail because of a probation violation, chose to spend one of his days of release from Cobb County Jail in the neighbouring Fulton County Jail recording a video sequence.The recording was used at the opening of a gig that TI had been allowed to perform at this weekend. The rapper pretended that he wasn't going to be able to make the gig after all, and that he was sending a message from his prison cell, before storming on stage and beginning his set.
Aside from the irony of spending one of his days out of jail in another jail, there is some controversy as to who gave permission for the convicted rapper to take a film crew into the Fulton County Jail. Bosses there say the filming was not authorised, but TI maintains he was given permission though, under the advice of his attorneys, he is not telling the media who OKed the recording plans.
Although bosses at the Fulton County Jail argue that the case is unrelated, the whole story is made more exciting because while TI was in the maximum security wing of the jail recording his video an inmate there escaped and was on the run for several hours!
