Thrice - The Illusion of Safety

Admittingly I'm not a fan of hardcore punk but this CD begs, no, demands that you like it. Very interesting guitar lines that are doubled by a very good bass player coupled with a great drum recording. I'm more a fan of the screaming vocal stylings but even during the singing parts one thing sticks out - hey, this guy can actually sing! This is a rarity among many in the genre who think a few notes pushed out amongst distortion is melodic. Yea.

A very solid album. Pick it up if you're into the recent wave of, "woah, they're actually screaming? On MTV?" type bands that are popular these days. And yea, these guys are actually good, so don't confuse these guys with those bands on MTV that are really quite awful (which will wait for another review).

As a whole, they bring the instruments, lyrics, and vocals together to fit like a puzzle.
Everything comes together perfectly, from the fluctuations in the vocals, to the lyrics,
the bass to the insane beating of drums that continuously ring in your head. Guitar riffs
get stuck in your mind as if they ran all the way up your spinal cord, almost the same way
Teppei Teranishi, lead guitarist, soars up and down the neck of the guitar creating
indescribable sounds. Thrice produces unexplainable waves of energy and adrenaline through
your entire body. Kensrue's voice is by far the best and most beautiful because of the way
you can literally feel what he's feeling through his screams. I can listen to this band
over and over and they do not cease to amaze me each time. No matter what mood you’re in,
this band will rip your heart out, suffocate you, steal your soul, and leave you wondering
what hit you. The kind of beat who change your mentality, and so your entire life. It's the
sound of the perfect heart and I want to bring it with me after this life. Fallowing my soul
    Thrice

PS if someone have the first release of identity crisis on green flag record... I WANT IT!!! telle me please
