Descriptive adjectives abound when I listen to Think Tank-energetic, talented, unique, ubiquitous-all describe this post punk band and their first effort, Here is the Moment.
Comparisons to Foo Fighters, Everclear and Jimmy Eat World would be reasonable; however, Think Tank doesn’t necessarily fit into any of their molds. They form their own sound, with clarity and pride.
Production on this CD is way above average. Spectacular mixing, unbelievable sound -quality and fresh, talented instrumentation abound on this disc, leaving one to wonder if greater things lie in store for this young band.
The only downside to this disc is the drums. You could link all of the songs together, and the drums would just be one continuous beat, with very few change-ups and even fewer start-stops. Very bland drumming however isn’t enough to take away form the spectacular vocals, the blended harmonies and the tight guitar hooks.
Think Tank is just warming up with this album. It has the feeling of a good first movie with a great cliffhanger—you know there will be a sequel, and you are sure that it will be even better than the first.

FWIW, I don't think the "Think Tank" Jeff's writing about is related to Paul Robb's industrial noise-a-rama that the Amazon link goes to :-) In fact, I get the impression they're approximately opposites. Someone might wanna fix that.

Too bad Thinktank doesnt get more press in the USA. This Australian band has been around for a few years now. This disc was actually a re-release of their past two eps all on one disc. It was released on the UK label--Household Name Records. Confused? Members of the band actually own their own label in Australia called Strategy Records which released: Seraphs Coal, STR, Edison, 99 Reasons Why. www.strategyrecords.com Thinktank has incredible potential. Now only if certain big labels would get a clue and license their stuff for the U.S. :)
