All of Europe is a-buzzing about a band from Finland, The Rasmus. After capturing the charts and winning several awards in both their home of Finland and Germany, they are set to take the UK next.
I have heard them and I have to admit that they really aren't my style. They remind me of Linkin Park in some bits with out all of the annoying "I'm doing hard core 'white boy rap'/muttering/. Then in another song, they sound like '80s rock. At least every song on their latest album doesn't sound exactly the same.
"In The Shadows" is the single they think is going to conquer the rest of the world. I have to admit that this song is okay as that it doesn't remind me of Linkin Park so much, I wouldn't flip the radio station on if this song came on ... but I still would not buy the album.
They have their sites set on America after being very popular internationally. Personally, I don't think they stand a chance but then again, I don't like 97% of what makes the charts here in the US now- that doesn't mean that you won't like them. The rasmus is one of the best bands, they are amazing, how EERO PLAYS THE BASS, HOW PAULI ROCK THE GUITARS, HOW AKI PLAY THE DRUMS AND HOW LAURI VOICE IS AMAZING FULL OF FIRE, AND ITS OK LAURI YOU DONT HAVE TO SMOKE MORE, LIKE THAT YOUR VOICE IS GOOD. BA BAY I AM FROM MEXICO
