Meet your new moderator, same as the old one in this week's "The Listening Room."
The big news for this week? That idiot DJRadiohead has stopped running this feature and has turned it over to me. There are a few of you who will get that joke. The rest of you would do best to keep reading forward, as there are some great entries in this week's Listening Room.…

This bears repeating:

What I really meant to say is that he doesn't have near the talent that his penis-licking "critics" give him credit for.
forget the meds. maybe you should just consider growing up.

Whitesnake - good memories
Yeah, especially that video with what's her face writhing around on top of that car. Mmmmmmm....writhing on cars.

(clearly anyone who has 1000 is over compensating ; )
hey!

Have you ever counted the number of CDs you own Mark?
30 - Mark Saleski
no, though a new storage system is due to be implemented this summer. it'll involve replacing all of the jewel boxes with sleeves.
this will result in some sort of cataloging system...from which (****shudder****) the number will emerge.

There's no overcompensating, there is just a massive, huge, throbbing parallel.

and Dylan, although deserves his iconic status, doesn't do a lot for me personally.
and somehow, i still associate with this woman.

You could probably build a castle with all those empty jewel cases.
It is way to early to be thinking of anthing huge and throbbing.

Man, things are getting weird around here.

I was looking though some of my old tapes. I can't believe I actually included the song "Human Touch," one of the biggest musical bombs ever, on a tape. I sometimes regret the drugs I did around that time. What an awful, poor songwriting attempt.

I also hope that one of Bruce's children decide to become police officers. He would definitely regret making that "Cop Killer" song.
37 - Michael Jones
Wait for it... wasn't "Cop Killer" an Ice-T track, via Body Count? Does this mean... could it be... Ice-T is Bruce?
Hmm.

LOL...time for all you blind Springsteen fans to "report me" to Rolling Stone and other liberalites for saying bad things about him.

Daryl: the Springsteen issue, you've really beaten it to a pulp. Please move on.

"All the Wrong Reasons" is a great song. Into The Great Wide Open is vastly underrated record.

Daryl's gonna love my next article.

already commented on it Glen, but that's ok. If it causes excitement for you guys, that's fine. It it makes your day happier, that's not a bad thing. So why do I rain on the parade all the time? I could be an internet troll. Or this type of website leads to dissenting opinions, which I think is healthy cause it leads to a lot of discussion.

Daryl's hall of fame series enshrines Jewel, Bon Jovi, Journey, TLC, Pat Benetar, and Alanis Morrisette. If that's the creme de la creme, maybe I'll stick with those who, in your view, don't have an ounce of talent.
If this is true and accurate then the author of this has fofeited his right to judge talent. Seriously, now that's a bad list.
Daryl D: it's not dissent if it has no purpose or logic. I've read all your thoughts about Springsteen. It's like you are fighting some one-man rebel without a cause dare me to think otherwise crusade. You keep talking about how everyone has an opinion and that talent is subjective (which isn't always the case)yet you keep hammering at those who consider Springsteen brillian - which he clearly is. You're fighting a pointless battle.
Still, I like your moxy. But try another strategy. You lost on the Spirngsteen thing. You don't like him - good for you. You're an "independent" thinker. Proud? But it's a far stretch to equate him to not being talented or being some hyped up figment of our imaginations.
Bon Jovi could NEVER EVER write a lyric like Springsteen. Never. Never, ever, never. Most people take a lyric at face value rarely ever considering the nuances of words - hence the hoopla around that cop song. Most people can read but fewer comprehend. You can scream and delude all you want but he's not even in the same class of Springsteen. He can have 15 hits useless hits since 1994 who fricken cares. That doesn't measure art. He's not in the same hemishpere. Stratoshpere. Ionosphere. Whateversphere.

By the way, for what it's worth: Springsteen had a number one album as recent as 2005 with Devils and Dust. So much for the he never did anything snce 1995 angle.
