Our love affair with dead rock stars never ends. In some instances, like in the case of the legendary guitar man Jimi Hendrix, it continues to grow with each passing year.

Up until this point, before watching this gripping and thought provoking video, I thought Hendrix died by choking on his own vomit. It seems there is a lot more to the ending of this man’s life. A series of events unfolded to form a dark and suspicious veil over his life and the occurrence of his death.

The music of Hendrix, recognized primarily through four studio albums, then countless bootlegs and unreleased material, is a cash cow that has been unrelenting. There seems to be an endless supply of unreleased material coming from Jimi’s estate over the past few years. Hendrix must have lived in the studio to have this much in the can. His popularity has not waned one iota, this DVD may change the views of many and open up new investigations into his demise.

Jimi loved the rock star life and he was all about consuming the benefits of being in the public eye. He always had plenty of sex and drugs, and this scenario was emphasized throughout the run of this DVD. It seems Hendrix was supportive of the Black Panthers when they were rising up to create a stir in America. The government did not want rich rock stars funneling money to a group that threatened the status quo and the sovereignty of our nation (or so it was perceived at the time), thus the CIA made their ties with the Mafia’s drug cartel to learn more about Jimi’s habits and created an ongoing profile of his daily life. Not one person has stepped forward in over 35 years since Jimi’s death to claim that they were with him when he died; therefore, the conclusion reached in a series of interviews with people that knew Jimi is that he was murdered in order to squelch the Black Panthers rise to power.

It's actually pretty widely known that Jimi's interest in the Black Panthers waned incredibly from the time of his original support and his death. in 1970 he hated the fact that his song was their national anthem, and basically denounced them in various interviews. That kind of ruins of the point of murdering him, doesn't it? And besides, from what I've heard his support was never really full-fledged "support", per se, but merely an interest in them. If the government wanted to kill someone with connections, Miles Davis would have been a much better candidate, but thank god that didn't happen.

Everything I've read about Jimi leads me
to believe that he wasn't political.

He was pressured several times by many
organizations such as The Black Panthers
(man those MF's dressed sharp) and the
Nation Of Islam but was apalled and also
scared off by their heavy handed methods
    at securing donations(shakedowns).

As an entertainer first & foremost,he
did not want to feel as though he had
    alienated anyone of any race.

while your comments are true, they're incomplete. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Hendrix did in fact support the BPs.

"I naturally feel part of what they're doing. In certain respects. But everybody has their own way of doing things. They get justified as they justify others, in their attempts to get personal freedom. That's all it is."

    Hendrix is with them, then?

"Yeah. But not the aggression or violence or whatever you want to call it. I'm not for guerrilla warfare."

I have thought about this for decades and my theory is this: Monika saw that Jimi had taken 9 of her sleeping pills. She tried to get him to vomit to get the pills out. He was groggy and couldn't vomit up the pills so she gave him wine (closest liquid at hand) to get him to vomit more. He choked to death right in front of her. She panicked and ran out to get help. She was in shock and invented a story and hid the secret of the tragic accident for the rest of her life. I have never heard that theory anywhere, but it is the only one that makes sense to me. How sad for Jimi and for Monika. Until I hear evidence to the contrary, I believe that my friend's death was a terrible accident and nothing more.
