I didn't really intend to present a history of the Internet here, and what you see above is a weak (and probably inaccurate) representation of the history of this kind of communications technology. But it's very hard to ignore the fact that an enormous amount of change and progress has occurred over the past few decades... and I have to admit that it's not all bad.
