The Friday Morning Listen - Bone-Chill Edition

Part of: Friday Morning Listen

Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

Look, it's fricken' ten degrees below zero out there right now. The wind is blowing between 15 and 30 miles an hour.

It's just a little chilly. I needed something to remind me of summer (and for some reason I couldn't find any of my Buffett cds).

Anybody got any other warm weather records? Send 'em my way.

Katrina and the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine," Sheryl Crow's "Soak up the Sun," and any and all Bob Marley. Dance while listening. The lively-up will raise temperatures for sure.

I'm alternating between Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders for the idyll of balmy breezes and string bands, and facing reality with Showdown and "The Rodeo Song".

To help lose those Wintertime Blues:
    Gabby Pahanui-(Hawaiian Guitar Wiz) most
anything by him especially the disc that
    he did with Ry Cooder.

    Orquestra Aragon,Machito,Los Zafiros,
    Buena Vista Social Club,Mongo Santamaria
(A whole spectrum of great Cubano music
from Jazz to Pop to Afro Cuban Funk, just
    add Bacardi and party!!!)

The Skatalites,Toots & The Maytals and
Prince Buster - Anything by any of these
guys will definitely lift the spirits.

+A little imagination, lots of good drink
& house full of friends ought to help a
little, that or a weekend in Vegas.
