In the donewaiting.com message board I compared the new Sahara Hotnights album to The Donnas, circa 2003. I was trying to say that the new Hotnights album had no heart or soul, and was processed average music just like the most recent Donnas record.
The Donnas continue their transformation into the pop world in October, with the release of their new album that has Butch Walker producing, the same guy that produced the new Avril Lavigne record.
Game over, The Donnas!

Robert, are you kidding? I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of both the Donnas last album and the new Sahara Hotnights. Yes, "Spend The Night" was a bit reductive, more led by its influences than rising above them, but the new SH album kicks all ass! Sure, neither band is as raw as they used to be, but I would have gotten tired by now of four albums in a row of "I'm Gonna Make Him Mine" or "Huff All Night," all teenage screeching, tin can drums, and one-mic recording. A little polish is welcome.
Of course, reasonable people may differ. My blogcritics review of the new Sahara Hotnights album is here.
