Keen to break America before the inevitable backlash begins over here, The
Darkness' record label are rushing the US release of Mercury Music Prize
nomination 'Permission to Land'. Warners will release the album on their
Atlantic Records label there later this month - it had originally been
slated for a 2004 release.
One source close to the band told the NME yesterday: "[Frontman] Justin's
already being recognised in the street over there. They're going to go and
play a few gigs to see how they get on. It's an exciting time."
