Saturday night, August 17, 2002. At Shadrach's coffee house in Newport News, Virginia. Three awesome bands tore it up like I haven't seen in a long time. First of all, somewhere between 200 and 300 kids showed up (I've had conflicting reports). I think that's gotta be some kind of record for Shad's. To all of you who were there. YOU made the show. The crowd was absolutely amazing. They fed off the energy of the bands, and kept the pit going almost the entire time. More on that in a minute.
Forever Unsaid was on first. We all were kind of skeptical to see what this band was all about. Halfway through the first song, I looked at someone (I don't remember who) and was like, "Whoa. This doesn't suck." I got up off my butt and took pictures. ... Like you could stop me. They were excellent... the band, I mean. Four really young guys... apparently they have a 7-string guitar and 5-string bass (which Ididn't notice at the show but sounded metal as crap). They all sounded awesome. The vocalist was so dynamic, and the drummer (besides looking cool.. hehe ..was right on). I was totally into it. I kept walking up to everyone saying, "Hey, this doesn't suck. Hey, this sounds awesome!" Etc, etc.
The Isra boys ruled the pit during this show. Look here for pics of that, as well as some friends.. etc. Finally all those long nights of Scott practicing his dance moves in his room paid off. Hehe just kiddin Scott.
Anyway. The pics of forever unsaid are here. Check em. Also, these guys are playing the Bay Days extreme arena in the battle of the bands.. Soon as i have full details, you'll hear about it. Also, i've talked to all four of these guys, and they're great. Go support em however you can. And download their mp3s. The ones on mp3.com are kinda old, and their sound has changed a little bit, but you can check em out anyway. Their sound now is more "metalcore" I guess. Screaming/singing vocals, and metal stuff behind it. Think Poison The Well or Hopesfall.

these bands are sick. they have got to be the best bands around. And Amber has GOT to be the best photographer/all around kool chick. who else would stay out of a pit just so the boys could throwdown without worryin about hurting the girls? hit up her site and sign the guestbook so i dont have to come chase you down.
