The name sounds like something dreamed up over at Marvel Comics. Throw in hard rockers Tom Morello of Audioslave and Serj Tankian of System of a Down and the result should be "interesting" whatever it is.

Photo from the Axis of Justice website
The Axis of Justice is not a band (although they do have an album out that was recorded at a benefit concert), it is a group of people who are trying to have a positive impact on the social and political environment of our world. The idea is to give musicians and music fans their own outlet/avenue through which to direct their helpful impulses.
The organization is currently involved in so many worthwhile endeavors that it is impossible for me to list them here. But to touch on a few of the more high profile ones; the Axis will be present at the System of a Down tour this summer and the Audioslave tour this fall.
"Amnesty International has been very instrumental in bringing attention to the plight of political prisoners around the globe, and in some cases creating the conditions of their release. In the age of the Globalist agenda, Amnesty is an invaluable cause of action." - Serj Tankian, System of a Down
In support of Amnesty International they are auctioning off VIP passes to System of a Down concerts on ebay. To place a bid you can go to the Amnesty international page on ebay.
In 2005 the face of compassion and justice aparently has a new look. Some examples:
