Teenage Fanclub’s Man-Made is their first album recorded in the US. Recorded in Chicago’s Soma Electronic Music Studios with John McEntire, Man-Made brings us yet another installment from Scotland’s beloved quartet. And Merge Records will bring this blissful album to your awaiting ears on June 7, 2005.
Teenage Fanclub’s sound is one of great 60s and 70s pop with their love of classic rock showing through. Man-Made is a collection of songs of wisdom, love, doubt, optimism, and change demonstrating the less is more maxim with an airy and light touch. It contains a mix of compositions of the band’s own Blake, Love and McGinley. Man-Made is certainly littered with musical touches and lyrical gems showing that Teenage Fanclub is full of heart.
Man-Made is bursting with soulful vocals delivered over skillfully constructed guitar hooks. It is the perfect blend of lush harmonies and arresting guitars brought together in soft folk-pop simplicity. This Teenage Fanclub album is overflowing with fresh and clear compositions such as the hauntingly beautiful piano-led “Only With You.”
Man-Made is a royal treat and the perfect soundtrack for summer 2005.
