Former Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett died in his home last Friday. Barrett left the band in 1968 after a drug-induced breakdown. However, he contributed to Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and A Saucer full of Secrets. A private family funeral will be held.
McCartney’s first guitar will be up for auction
Paul McCartney’s first guitar, a Rex acoustic, will be auctioned at Abbey Roads Studios by McCartney’s friend, Ian James. The guitar will come with a letter of authenticity from Paul McCarteny saying that it was the instrument that he learned to play basic chords on.
The Killers have set an October 3rd release date for their next album. The sophomore effort by the band is said to be titled Sam’s Town. The lead single will be released on July 24th and will be called “When You Were Young”. The Killers recorded the album with producers Alan Moulder and Flood. A sneak preview of the first single will be streaming online today at 5 p.m. on islandrecords.com.
