Sugarland Debut Certified Double Platinum

Sugarland's debut album Twice The Speed of Life has just been certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, commemorating sales of more than 2,000,000 copies.

"2005 was such a stellar year," says lead singer Jennifer Nettles. "It was a year of so many 'firsts' - first award nominations, first award won, first Gold record, and first Platinum record. 2006 has gotten off to an exciting and refreshing start with Double Platinum. Here's to even more of our dreams coming true in 2006 and thanks to everyone for such a memorable year!"

Sugarland was voted Favorite New Artist at the American Music Awards and is up for the Best New Artist Grammy. Sugarland will perform "Something More" at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards, broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8 from 8:00pm-10:30pm/ET on the CBS Television Networks and 120 countries worldwide.
