I'm really looking forward to this, "Stormy Weather: The Music of Harold Arlen", which is airing on CBC on Thursday, and probably later elsewhere. Any chance to hear Mary Margaret O'Hara is something to be anticipated.
Stormy Weather: The Music of Harold Arlen is inspired by the life and songs of the great American popular composer. It features performances by some of today's most original recording artists in the worlds of jazz, pop, rock and the blues, including: Sandra Bernhard, Debbie Harry, David Johansen, Ranee Lee, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Rufus Wainwright, among others. It airs on CBC Television's OPENING NIGHT on Thursday, February 27 at 7 p.m.
The programme is produced by Rhombus Media (The Red Violin, Thirty-two Short Films About Glenn Gould, Yo-Yo Ma: Inspired by Bach) who an amazing profile of Kurt Weill.
