Sometimes She Burns is a punk band from Boston Mass. Their album, Apart at the Seams is an album about girls, or maybe just one girl. Anyway, it is not a new theme, but this band puts its own spin on the experience. Sometimes they sound like they are committed to true punk to the point of sounding (musically) like Me First and the Gimme Gimme's. That was definitely my perception after hearing the album opener, subtly titled, "Bitch."
The rest of the album, changed my mind a bit. The band rocked through 7 tracks. I will be honest, there were some low points where I didn't like the album, but there were also some really good ones. Sometimes the vocal performances were just too sloppy and sometimes it sounded like they were picking up where The Canterbury Effect left off. There was one amazingly blistering guitar solo which impressed me.
I liked the last three songs. "This Summer," "I Know," and "Heartless" all rocked and were the best produced and performed songs on the album. I would definitely like to see these guys live at some point because I think they probably put on a crazy live show. If you are into The Canterbury Effect, check these guys out.
